ASHIKULE ran a good race on debut over 1000m on this course. He took time to find his feet but the manner in which he stayed on at the business end was encouraging. It must be noted that Military Command has come out and won again since. The son of Erupt is having his first run for Vaughan Marshall and with the natural improvement that is expected, he can go one better.

CALL OF THE KAROO is better than her last start over this C&D as she was reported to have excuses. Her debut effort when second over 800m on this course was encouraging. The daughter of William Longsword would have strengthened up during her time off the track and if fit, she should give the males a run for their money.

DEMANDING DAVE showed good improvement when second in his first run as a gelding. The son of Horizon is a progressive type and he may have more to come.

Race 2

UNA THE UNICORN showed very good improvement when second over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. She took the lead at the 200m mark before getting outrun late by Cliffscape. The daughter of Act Of War is a progressive type and she can go one better.

PARALEGAL showed good speed over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Jordash. The daughter of Captain Of All is coming along the right way and she is one of the leading contenders.

MARKETA finished 3 lengths behind the top selection on debut. The daughter of One World would have gained from the experience and she should make the natural improvement.

Race 3

ALEX MILLER stayed on when fourth over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is having her peak run and should be cherry-ripe. She gets the tongue-tie fitted for the first time which may do the trick. In this type of field, she can shed her maiden tag.

THINGAMABOB should have finished closer to the winner last time as she was switched for running room at the 150m mark. The daughter of Trippi may be at her best over this distance at this stage of her career. She has plenty of scope and must be included in all bets.

CAPE CAPTAIN challenged when second over this C&D last time. The daughter of Captain Of All is coming along the right way and she cannot be ignored.

Race 4

HERITAGE RIDGE showed good speed over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time, before getting caught late by Sugarbush. She receives her sex allowance again and may be the one to beat.

TRIPPING THUNDER finished 1.25 lengths behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. The son of Trippi is likely to race on the speed and he may be hard to peg back.

GIMMEATHRILL finished 2.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. He would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. He has scope and should be involved at the business end.

Race 5

GOLD DUST made the expected natural improvement when fourth over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. He over raced in the early stages of that race which did not help his chances. The son of Rafeef should be ideally suited to this distance and from his good draw of four, he may be the one to beat.

KONNICHIWA stayed on when second over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. Andrew Fortune may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

VAPOUR TRAIL was running on when second over 1200m last time. The well-related son of Erik The Red will love the rise to 1400m. He takes on older rivals and from his good draw of two, he should be competitive.

 

 

Race 6

PRINCESS IZZY was running on when second over this C&D in the Grade 3 SplashOut Prix Du Cap last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. She has won once and finished second three times from as many starts over this C&D. She jumps from a good draw of three and may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

KINDA WONDERFUL stayed on when second over 1800m in the Listed Schweppes Cape Fillies Classic last time. It must be noted that Give Me Everything has come out and won again since. Her last victory came under Craig Zackey and she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

RAINBOW LORIKEET fought hard when winning her last start over 2000m in the Grade 3 Tsogo Sun Final Fling Stakes. She returns from a well-deserved 11-week break. The daughter of Querari will be mowing down the frontrunners at the finish.

Race 7

GARRIX is a classy sort who was not disgraced when third in the Grade 1 SplashOut Cape Derby last time. The son of Vercingetorix has been gelded since that outing which may have done the trick. He should be ideally suited to the 1600m and with just 52.5kgs on his back, he can return to winning ways.

RASCALLION was running on when fifth in the Grade 1 WSB Cape Town Met last time. He has won three times, finished second once and third twice from nine starts over this C&D. The 7yo gelding races well fresh and with luck in running, he should fight out the finish.

MAGIC VERSE is better than his last start in the Grade 1 WSB Cape Town Met. The son of Vercingetorix is unbeaten from two starts over this distance. On his previous form, he should be right there at the finish.

Race 8

LA PULGA has good recent form lines to his credit. He cast a shoe in running when second in the Non- Black Type HSH Princess Charlene Big Cap last time. The son of Pomodoro has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. He is a horse with ability and can notch up his third- career victory.

CALL TO UNITE ran a good race when second over 2000m last time. It must be noted that Holding Thumbs has come out and won again since. Both his career victories have come over this distance and he is a threat.

FIBONACCI should have finished closer to the winner last time as he had to be eased at the 50m mark. Oswald Noach is booked to ride and with luck in running, he should have a say.

Race 9

KAIBOY showed good speed over this C&D last time before getting outrun late by Symphony In White. His last victory came under Aldo Domeyer. The son of One World is a temperamental type and if all goes according to plan, he can notch up his fourth-career victory.

NORDIC CHIEF won a good race over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

ELUSIVE WINTER finished 1.25 lengths behind NORDIC CHIEF last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

Race 10

PIROSHKA has shown signs of a form return in his last two starts. He should have finished closer to the winner last time. He finished 1.15 lengths behind COUNTER ATTACK in his penultimate run. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. If keeping on a straight line, he may be the horse to close off the meeting.

COUNTER ATTACK showed good speed over 1100m last time and stayed on to finish third. He has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. Despite his big mass of 64kgs, he should be competitive.

THE US OF A lacked extra late over 1200m last time. He returns from an 11-week break. If finding the form of his penultimate run, he should have a say
