Race 1

CELESTIAL DIAMOND produced a promising debut effort when third over this C&D. The manner in which she finished off her race that day was encouraging. The daughter of Fire Away would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she may be the one to beat. 

TULIP FIELDS ran a good race on debut, despite excuses. She was awkwardly placed at the start and the saddle was reported to have slipped in running. The daughter of Vercingetorix drops to 1200m. She would have gained from her debut experience and can improve to pose a threat. 

WATER HYACINTH has produced two decent efforts to date. The daughter of Rafeef will love the rise to 1200m. She will strip much fitter and should have a say in the outcome of this contest. 

Race 2

GOTTA GO EDDIE has placed in both his efforts to date. He returns from a 12-week break, during which time he was gelded. The son of Gimmethegreenlight has plenty of scope and if not in need of the run, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure. 

MIGHTY ZAMBEZI made the natural improvement when third over this C&D. The son of What A Winter is a progressive type and is one of the leading contenders. 

FRENCH WAR LORD was in need of his debut effort over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He raced wide around the turn and hung outwards. The son of Act Of War would have gained from the experience and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, he should make the natural improvement.

Race 3

GIMMIE RULES is an unraced son of Gimmethegreenlight from the Dean Kannemeyer stable with Craig Zackey in the saddle. He is related to Grade 1 winner Gimme A Prince. If not too green in running, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances. 

THAT‘LL B THE DAY showed good improvement when second over 1100m on this course last time. He showed good speed and tried hard all the way to the line. The son of Vercingetorix is a progressive type and is one of the leading contenders. 

LIGHT THE FIRE stayed on at the finish when third over this C&D on debut. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The son of One World would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should go close.

Race 4

WORLD OF ROYALTY has finished third in both his efforts to date. He raced green in running over 1100m on this course last time, but the manner in which he finished off his race was eye-catching. The son of One World will love the rise to 1400m and from his good draw of three, he can return to winning ways. 

STAR IN MOTION was squeezed when leaving the start last time, but finished off his race strongly. The son of Gimmethegreenlight should enjoy the rise to 1400m and he should fight out the finish. 

CAPTAINSHIP set the pace over this distance last time and stayed on to finish third. He has cracked a good draw of four and can earn another cheque for his patrons. 

 

 

Race 5

CONVOCATION is better than her last start in the Grade 1 SA Fillies Sprint. Her three starts prior to that outing were good. Three of her six career victories have come on this course. S’manga Khumalo steps back into the saddle and she may be the horse to side with. 

ICY ELEANOR is better than her last start as she was reported to be not striding out. It must be noted that Princess Hannah has come out and won again since. She finished 1.6 lengths behind VISION TO ACHIEVE in her penultimate run. She is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. 

VISION TO ACHIEVE is a winner of her last two starts over this C&D. She is in a good space and with Andrew Fortune in the saddle, she can bring up the hat-trick. 

Race 6

WORLD OF ALICE was a tad disappointing in the Grade 2 TAB Igugu Stakes last time. Her penultimate run when second in the Grade 2 Wilgerbosdrift Bridget Oppenheimer SA Oaks catches the eye. The daughter of One World has no stamina issues and if jumping on terms, she can notch up her third-career victory. 

MY SOUL MATE ran a good race when second in the Grade 2 Tote Woolavington 2000 last time. She has good consistent form lines to her credit. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

GIVE ME EVERYTHING was a tad disappointing when 3.35 lengths behind the second choice last time. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight will love the rise to 2400m and Craig Zackey steps back into the saddle. She will be mowing down the frontrunners at the finish.

Race 7

FUTURE SWING finished 1.4 lengths behind FIELD MARSHAL last time. He is 5.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Richard Fourie is likely to use his early gate speed to overcome the widest draw and he can return to winning ways. 

HOLDING THUMBS finished 1.75 lengths behind FIELD MARSHAL in the race referred to above. He is 3kgs better off at the weights and should turn the form around. 

FIELD MARSHAL won a good race in the Listed Lonsdale Stirrup Cup last time. He has won once and finished second twice from as many starts on this course. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect. 

Race 8

SERPENTINE FIRE finished 0.95 lengths behind HONOR OF KINGS last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Potala Palace should be ideally suited to this distance. He jumps from pole position with Callan Murray booked to ride, and can notch up his second-career victory. 

HONOR OF KINGS ran a fair race over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He is likely to race on the speed with Andrew Fortune up and may be hard to peg back. 

ROSH KEDESH ran on from last when third over this distance on the polytrack last time. He jumps from a good draw of two and if not too far out of his ground turning for home, he should be involved at the finish
