RACE 1

WISHES AND DREAMS was in need of her debut effort over 1000m on this course. She lost a length leaving the start and was outpaced. The daughter of Canford Cliffs would have gained from the experience and she will love the extra 200m on offer. Richard Fourie retains the ride and with the natural improvement that is expected, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure. 

MONEY GALORE ran a decent race on debut over this distance on the turf. She raced from just off the pace and stayed on at the finish. The daughter of Rafeef would have come on from the run and should make the natural progression. 

MAKE BELIEVE found one too good on debut over 1000m on this course in the form of City Of Dreams. The daughter of Canford Cliffs should enjoy the extra 200m on offer and she can improve. 

RACE 2

GRAND ALLEGRO has finished second in his last two starts over 1200m on this course. He raced from a handy position last time and fought hard all the way to the line. The son of Global View should be ideally suited to 1300m and can shed his maiden tag. 

GREEN OKRA showed good improvement when second over 1200m on this course last time. He raced from a handy position and stayed on at the finish. He will strip a much fitter horse and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

GLOBAL DRUMBEAT finished 1.25 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

RACE 3

The tentative first selection is BATTLE OF BRITAIN who is having her first run for Gavin Smith. She has finished fourth in her last two starts on the Highveld. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber has scope and if taking to the polytrack, she can win a race of this nature. 

FANTASY GIRL is still a maiden after 14 runs. She has moderate recent form lines to her name. The daughter of Global View tries the 1900m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she would not be a shock winner. 

GLOBAL SCENE is better than her first run for the Juan Nel stable. She steps up in distance and if putting her best foot forward, she can fight out the finish.

RACE 4

HEEMSTEDE was super-impressive when winning his maiden over this C&D. That was his first attempt on this surface and he was 0.13 seconds away from the course record. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. Xolani Ndlovu is likely to use his early gate speed to overcome the wide draw and he may be hard to peg back. 

CATCH THE TUNE is better than his last start on the turf. He finished 0.4 lengths behind JACK IN THE GREEN in his penultimate run. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. 

JACK IN THE GREEN ran on strongly when winning his last start over this C&D. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners

 

 

RACE 5

LADY ZULTANITE was running on when third over 1900m on this course last time. She finished 0.5 lengths behind DARLING HARBOUR that day. She is 3kgs better off at the weights which is enough for the tables to be turned. She has won twice and finished second twice from five starts over this C&D. Apprentice Brevan Plaatjies takes the 2.5kgs off her back which will assist her cause. 

DARLING HARBOUR raced from a handy position over 1900m last time, but found one too good in the form of Call To Glory. She drops back in class and is one of the leading contenders. 

TAKE YOUR TIME ran a fair race against males last time. She finished 0.55 lengths behind THREE CHEERS in her penultimate run. She is 6kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. 

Race 6

STRATA is better than her last start over this distance on the turf. Her form prior to that outing was good. She finished fourth over 1000m on this course in her penultimate run. She is the stable elect and may be the horse to side with. 

SHARAPOVA got up late when winning her last start over 1300m on this course. The daughter of Querari is an honest type and she merits healthy respect. 

BOMBER GIRL is better than her last start in the Listed Milkwood Stakes. She has won twice and finished second three times from nine starts over this distance. Apprentice Nirvan Nastili takes the 2.5kgs off her back and she would not be a shock winner. 

RACE 7

FINAL EDITION was unlucky not to have won his last start over this distance. He had to be steadied at the 350m mark and switched for running room at the 200m mark. He has won once, finished second twice and third twice from nine starts on this course. With a bit of luck in running, he can notch up his third-career victory. 

SLINGS AND ARROWS ran a fair race in the Non-Black Type Fairview 1400 last time. He has won once, finished second once and third once from five starts over this distance. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back. 

DOWSER should have finished closer last time as he was switched for running room at the 150m mark. He has won once and finished second once from three starts over this C&D. With a bit of luck in running, he should be involved at the finish. 

RACE 8

LADY LUCK got up late when winning her last start over this C&D. She found good betting support that day. The daughter of Vercingetorix is back against her own sex and she can follow up with another victory. 

COURAGEOUS‘ last two starts have been decent. She does have a wide draw to overcome, but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle. 

BLUE PALACE is better than her comeback run as she was reported to be not striding out. She would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. With a bit of luck in running, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest
