Race 1

MS GALORE was disappointing in her last start after an encouraging debut effort over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. The daughter of Bezrin has scope and if not too green around the turn, she should be involved at the finish.

DOIN’ TIME ran a good race when second over 1400m on the polytrack last time. He set the pace that day before getting caught late by Mistress Rebecca. It must be noted that the horse that finished third has come out and won since. Should the top choice fluff her lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

DANUBE returns from a 14-week break during which time he changed stables and was gelded. The son of What A Winter gets the cheekpieces fitted for the first time. With a bit of luck in running, he can feature in this type of field.

Race 2

SAHARA DAWN hails from the visiting Sean Tarry stable. She is better than her last start as she was reported to be distressed. Her penultimate run when second over 1450m on the Vaal Classic course was encouraging. The daughter of Pomodoro is having her peak run today and if all went well with her travels, she should go close.

PURPLE POWAHOUSE stayed on when third over this C&D last time. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he should be the first male past the post.

NOW I GOT YOU finished 0.9 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

Race 3

CAPTAIN’S CHRISTY stayed on when fourth against male company over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. She finished 1.75 lengths behind CONVOCATION in her penultimate run. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has won once, finished second twice and third twice from as many starts on this course. On best form shown, she can notch up her fourth-career victory.

CONVOCATION won a game race in her last start over this distance. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

KHETHIWE’S DESTINY returns from an 11-week break which would have done her the world of good. The daughter of Buffalo Bill Cody is unbeaten from two starts over this distance. She is likely to race on the speed and if not in need of the run, she may be hard to peg back.

Race 4

GIVE ME EVERYTHING is a winner of her last three starts, the latest of which was in the Listed Schweppes Cape Fillies Classic. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight has won twice and finished third once from as many starts over this distance. If suited to the right-hand turn, she should take a power of beating from her good draw of three.

SOVEREIGN GRANT ran a good race when second over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. She is the stable elect with Tristan Godden in the saddle. From pole position, she may be the one to fill the exacta spot.

AFRICAN BEAT finished 1.6 lengths behind ICE RAIN last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

Race 5

TEFLON MAN was running on when fourth over 1100m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. The gelding seems to have done the trick. He has won once and finished third once from as many starts on this course. The son of Querari will strip a much fitter horse today and he can return to winning ways.

SHIPHOLIA has good recent form lines to her credit. She stayed on when second in the Non-Black Type Marula Sprint last time. It must be noted that William Robertson has come out and won again since. From pole position, she is one of the leading contenders.

GOOD TRAVELLER finished 2.1 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

 

 

Race 6

GIMMIE’S COUNTESS should have finished closer in the Grade 3 SplashOut Prix Du Cap as she had to be switched for running room in the latter stages. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is the highest rated horse in this contest and should return to winning ways.

WARRIOR ROYALE won a good race in her comeback run over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. Two of her victories have come on this course. She is in a good space and is one of the leading contenders.

GREEN SAPPHIRE won a good race over 1160m at Turffontein last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. Gavin Lerena retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.

Race 7

CATS PAJAMAS was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He was slow into stride and got up where it matters most. The son of Rafeef has won three times and finished third once from five starts on this course. Gavin Lerena steps back into the saddle and he can bring up the hat-trick.

OXALIS GOLD set the pace over this distance at Turffontein and found extra to hold all challengers at bay. Should the top choice fluff his lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

O’TENIKWA is better than his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He ran a fair race when fourth in the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Cape Guineas in his penultimate run. He has the gate speed to overcome the widest draw and if fit, he may be hard to peg back.

Race 8

TWO G’S won a good race in her last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She raced from a handy position and kept finding all the way to the line. The daughter of Master Of My Fate should have no issues with the drop to 1200m. She jumps from a good draw of three and can follow up with another victory.

WEST SIDE STORY’S last two starts before the 15-week break were fair. She won her maiden over this distance. If not in need of this outing, she may be the one to fill the exacta spot.

COLORADO CREEK has good consistent form lines to her credit. It must be noted that the form of her last outing has been franked. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 9

MISS LADYATERIX showed good speed when winning her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Vercingetorix jumps from pole position and she can follow up with another victory.

TARA STAR finished 2.6 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today which is enough for the tables to be turned. However, MISS LADYATERIX won easier than the official margin suggests and she may still have the upper hand.
