Race 1
FLYING SOUTH has shown good improvement in each of her outings to date. She rallied late when second over 1000m on the polytrack last time. The daughter of What A Winter is coming along the right way and she can go one better.
PERFUME POWER has also shown good improvement with each outing. She showed speed over 1000m last time, before getting touched off by the well-backed Serengetti Sun. 4kgs claiming apprentice Jacey Botes retains the ride and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
PRINCESS OF GAUL is an unraced daughter of Vercingetorix from the Dean Kannemeyer stable with Craig Zackey in the saddle. She is related to five-time winner Kingdundee. If not in need of this outing, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her and the other first timers.
Race 2
BOARDWALK BREEZE ran a good race when third over 1200m on this course last time. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the son of Erupt. He is a progressive type and may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
CHAPBOOK has produced two fair races to date. He showed good speed over 1160m at Turffontein last time, but found one too good in the form of Jan Van Goyen. The son of Rafeef has scope and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, he is one of the leading contenders.
BOMBER STREAM finished 1.4 lengths behind GRAND FORCE last time. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. If not in need of the run, he should earn another cheque for his patrons.
Race 3
BLACK EGRET hails from the visiting Clinton Binda stable. He was running on when second over 1160m at Turffontein last time. The son of Rafeef is having his peak run today and he will be cherry-ripe. The booking of Richard Fourie is a big plus, and he can go one better.
SOHO STAR finished 0.15 lengths behind VIHAAN’S WEB last time. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that is enough for the tables to be turned. Andrew Fortune retains the ride, and the combination merit healthy respect.
VIHAAN‘S WEB is a winner of his last two starts over this C&D. He received a five-pound penalty for his latest victory. The son of Vercingetorix is in a good space and can bring up the hat-trick.
Race 4
THE MASK finished 2.2 lengths behind MAR DEL PLATA last time. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. The blinkers remain fitted and he may be the one to beat.
ABADDON stayed on nicely over 1000m last time, after getting squeezed at the starting stalls. Apprentice Jacey Botes takes the 4kgs off his back which will assist his cause. If getting away to a clean start, he should pose a massive threat.
VELDSKOEN ran a fair race in his first outing for the MJ Odendaal stable. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Hollywood Racing-retained Jockey Sean Veale rides and there should be good improvement to come.
Race 5
ATTABOY lost two lengths leaving the start last time and ran on well to finish third. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. Apprentice Nirvan Nastili takes the 2.5kgs off his back and if jumping on terms, he can return to winning ways.
LAKE COMO stayed on when fourth over this C&D last time. The widest draw is the obvious concern, but with luck in running, he should be right there at the finish.
BEACH PALACE finished 3.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. Iannish Taka steps back into the saddle, and he can earn another cheque for his patrons.
Race 6
BEAUTIFUL RANIA set the pace over 1600m on the polytrack last time and stayed on to finish fifth. The daughter of Twice Over takes a drop in class and Tristan Godden may be able to get the best out of her where it matters most.
GOLDEN ASPEN hails from the visiting Corne Spies stable. She should have finished closer to the winner last time as she was steadied at the 300m mark. With a bit of luck in running, she would not be a shock winner.
COPACABANA should have finished closer last time as she was switched for running room at the 400m mark. She is back against her own sex and if taking to this course, she should be a solid back-up for the Dennis Bosch stable.
Race 7
SONIC JET was far from disgraced when sixth in the Grade 2 HKJC World Pool Tibouchina Stakes last time. She raced from a handy position and stayed on at the finish. The daughter of Erupt drops back in class and from her good draw of three, she may be hard to peg back.
FORWARD MOTION is better than her last start over this C&D. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She carries a light mass thanks to Apprentice Jacey Botes, and she is one of the leading contenders.
ICE RAIN won a good race over this C&D last time. She received a six-pound penalty for that victory. If jumping on terms, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.
Race 8
MOUNTAINSOFTHEMOON stayed on when fourth over 1900m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. The tongue- tie seems to have done the trick. The daughter of Pathfork has dropped in the ratings and she can return to winning ways.
RUGGER LOVER has fair recent form lines to her credit. She steps up to 1600m and the blinkers have been removed. It is encouraging that Richard Fourie is booked to ride and from pole position, she should give a good account of herself.
RANI TARABAI followed up her maiden win with a good fourth-place finish over 2000m on the polytrack. She has finished second once and third once from as many starts on this course. With a bit of luck in running, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 9
RUN FOR COVER was doing his best work at the finish over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. The son of Erupt drops back to Class 4 Company and the booking of Richard Fourie is a big plus. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he can notch up his fifth-career victory.
TERMINATOR has finished second in his last three starts. It must be noted that multiple horses from his last form line have come out and won since. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be rewarded for consistency.
FRENCH FLAME‘S last two starts have been fair. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. He is having his peak run and will be cherry-ripe for this outing
