Winning Form selections for racing from Turffontein on Saturday 2nd August where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter @Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge
Race 1
DONDOYAKI ran a good race when third over this C&D last time. She showed good speed before getting outrun late. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the daughter of Danon Platina. Serino Moodley retains the ride, and she is the horse to beat.
ON THE RUN ran a fair race on debut over this C&D. The daughter of Trippi would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she is one of the leading contenders.
MASTER‘S LADY was a tad disappointing over this distance on the Inside course last time. Her debut run when third over 1160m on this course was encouraging. She is a filly with scope and can show.
Race 2
BRIGITTE ANNE ran a good race on debut over this C&D. She showed good speed before getting outrun late. The daughter of Querari would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she may be the one to beat.
BINGO was a tad disappointing over this C&D last time. His penultimate run when second behind Gimmeforsure was encouraging. Should the top choice fluff her lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
SIMBINE was unlucky not to have won his last start over this distance on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack. He was squeezed leaving the starting stalls and finished off his race strongly. The son of What A Winter is coming along the right way and should go close.
Race 3
KENSAL GREEN took time to find her feet on debut over 1200m on the Inside course, but the manner in which she finished off her race was encouraging. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1400m. With the natural improvement that is expected, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
ZAHRA DOMINIA showed improvement when second over this C&D last time. The daughter of Rabada is a progressive type and may have more to come.
HEAVENLY GOOD ran a fair race on debut over 1160m on this course. The daughter of Heavenly Blue would have come on from the outing and she should enjoy the extra distance on offer. Gavin Lerena retains the ride which is encouraging.
Race 4
TEXAS RED won a good race over this C&D last time. Despite jumping outwards at the start, he found himself in front and won easier than the official margin suggests. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. Callan Murray is booked to ride, and he can follow up with another victory.
TRUTH is better than his last start in the Grade 3 Post Merchants as he was reported to be not striding out. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He is ideally suited to this C&D and is one of the leading contenders.
MELECH is better than his last two starts. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. He should enjoy the rise to 1400m and would not be a shock winner.
Race 5
MO MENT is better than his last start in the Grade 3 Durban Gold Vase. He won a good race over 2600m on the Inside course in his penultimate outing. He won his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Royal Mo is likely to find himself in front turning for home and can notch up his fifth-career victory.
TO THE RESCUE is better than his last start as he was reported to be not striding out. He finished 4 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
ENFLAME has run two decent races since winning his maiden. The son of Irish Flame should love the rise to 2850m. He is a horse with scope and should give a good account of himself.
Race 6
KING‘S EXPRESS should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was steadied late. He has won three times, finished second once and third once from six starts over this distance. The 6yo gelding will strip much fitter and on previous form, he should be the horse to beat.
HOTARUBI is better than his last start as he was reported to be not striding out. He drops back in class and on best form shown, he is one of the leading contenders.
THE EQUATOR was a tad disappointing in his first run in South Africa. He would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and the betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.
Race 7
SKITTLES SKIES ran a good race when third over 1800m on this course last time. He was squeezed leaving the start and finished off his race well. He drops back in class and with Craig Zackey in the saddle, he can notch up his second-career victory.
STREWN SKY ran a good race when third over 1400m on this course last time. He would have come on from the run and with 4kgs claiming apprentice Mxolisi Mbuto retaining the ride, he should go close.
UNSOLVED RIDDLE stayed on after racing handy over this distance on the Vaal Classic course last time. He won his penultimate outing over this C&D. The booking of Gavin Lerena is a big plus and he should be competitive.
Race 8
ZIYASHA is better than his last two starts over 1200m. He took a keen hold in the early stages of both those races and did not go on with the effort. Five of his six career victories have come over this distance. Callan Murray is booked to ride and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.
WILLIAM ROBERTSON ran a fair race in the Grade 1 Mercury Sprint last time. He has won twice and finished second once from four starts over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
MOUNT PINATUBO produced a strong finish when winning his last start over this C&D. He returns from a well-deserved 12-week break. If not in need of the run, he should be involved at the finish.
Race 9
CAPTAIN EFFICIENT was doing his best work late when third over 1000m on the Inside course last time. The fitting of the blinkers and compression mask seems to have done the trick. He may be rewarded for consistency.
VALIEVA ran a good race when third over this C&D last time. Serino Moodley is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
GOLDEN ASPEN stayed on when fourth over 1450m on the Vaal Classic course last time. She was reported to be coughing that day. It is encouraging that Marco van Rensburg steps back into the saddle and the combination cannot be ignored
