Winning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Saturday 16th August where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge
Race 1
WHATASTAR moved up well over this C&D last time before getting outrun late. It is encouraging that Raymond Danielson has been booked to ride this daughter of What A Winter. She is drawn on the inside of the course and can shed her maiden tag.
MARKETA has decent recent form lines to her credit. She showed good speed over 1200m last time, but found one too good in the form of Viva La Vida. She finished third in her three efforts prior to that outing over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
PENNYS CHOICE showed very good improvement when second over this C&D last time. The blinkers seem to have done the trick. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and if confirming her recent improvement, she should be competitive.
Race 2
LOVE HER MADLY still showed some signs of needing her last start over this C&D. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The daughter of Captain Of All has scope and she should be cherry-ripe. 1.5kgs claiming Apprentice Brevan Plaatjies retains the ride, and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.
BEACH VERSE has shown improvement in each of her races to date. She found one too good in the form of Splash Of Colour last time. The daughter of Vercingetorix is bred to love the rise to 1400m and she is one of the leading contenders.
CLOUDS CLEARING lost two lengths leaving the start last time, but stayed on to finish third over this C&D. If getting away on terms, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.
Race 3
SUGAR MOUNTAIN is a winner of his last three starts, the latest of which was over this C&D. He showed a good turn of foot last time and won with ease. The 7yo gelding meets a similar line-up this afternoon and can win again.
PROMETTERE finished 2.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. The son of Pomodoro will be mowing down the frontrunners.
THE FUTURIST finished 3.7 lengths behind the top selection in the race referred to above. The pair meet on the same weight terms and he may battle to turn the tables.
Race 4
This is a competitive contest and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is KWITE A KING from the Justin Snaith stable. He finished 2.25 lengths behind ARIOVISTUS last time and is 6kgs better off at the weights. That should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
BATON ROUGE is a winner of his last two starts, the latest of which was over 1800m. He is in a good space and with Richard Fourie retaining the ride, he can bring up the hat-trick.
ARIOVISTUS is the stable companion of the second selection. He followed up his maiden win with a good victory over this C&D. The 4yo gelding is a solid back-up for the yard.
Race 5
HAPPY VERSE was not beaten far in the Grade 3 Langerman last time. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. The son of Vercingetorix won his penultimate outing over this C&D. He looks to have class about him and despite his big mass of 62.5kgs, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
MENTE ET MANU showed some signs of needing his last start over this C&D. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. The son of Lancaster Bomber is one of the leading contenders.
GOLDEN ANGEL has fair consistent form lines to her name. Her only victory came over this distance. She carries a light mass of 51kgs and should give the males a run for their money.
Race 6
BLUFF ON BLUFF finished 1.75 lengths behind OCTOBER STORM last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Three of his seven career victories have come over this C&D. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and he may be the horse to side with.
OCTOBER STORM was outrun when fifth over this C&D last time. He was super-impressive when winning on debut. The son of Vercingetorix has plenty of scope and merits healthy respect.
SHE‘S MY WORLD has good consistent form lines to her credit. She stayed on when second over 1200m on this course last time. She has won once and finished second twice from as many starts over this C&D. The daughter of One World should run another honest race.
Race 7
PARATROOPER finished 1.8 lengths behind MONT LOISIR last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Lancaster Bomber has dropped to a competitive rating and if confirming his recent improvement, he can notch up his third-career victory.
AFRICAN PRINCE finished 0.05 lengths behind MONT LOISIR in the race referred to above. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
MONT LOISIR won a game race over this C&D last time. He received a three-pound penalty for that victory. He is in a good space and merits obvious consideration.
Race 8
WILD APPLAUSE won a good race in her last start over this C&D. She showed a good turn of foot and won going away. The daughter of Vercingetorix received a five-pound penalty for that victory. She meets a similar line-up this afternoon and can follow up with another victory.
MUSIC OF THE NIGHT stayed on when third over this C&D last time. She finished 1.85 lengths behind the top choice that day and is 2.5kgs better off at the weights. That should be enough to turn the form around, but WILD APPLAUSE won easier than the margin suggests and may still have the upper hand.
LHASA stayed on when 2.15 lengths behind the top choice in the race referred to above. She is an honest type and cannot be left out
