RACE 1

THE ROARING ROCK should give punters a good start to the day. He flyjumped leaving the start over this C&D last time and should have finished closer to Flight Engineer. The son of One World meets the right field and with Richard Fourie aboard, he should take a power of beating.

ALL SYSTEMS GO is an unraced son of Gimmethegreenlight from the Gavin Smith stable with Craig Zackey in the saddle. He is related to four-time winner Give Me Everything. If not in need of the run, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.

WORLD OF DIAMONDS was in need of her debut effort over this C&D. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She would have strengthened up during her time off the track. With the natural improvement that is expected, she can finish in the placings.

RACE 2

OLIVE OYL‘S last start is best ignored as the jockey was dislodged at the 400m mark. Her form prior to that outing on this course was good. She was touched off over this C&D in her penultimate outing. Richard Fourie rides for the first time and she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure in this field.

MORFELIHA hails from the visiting Justin Snaith stable. She showed some improvement when sixth over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. The daughter of One World is a progressive type and should love the extra 200m on offer. She may be the one to fill the exacta spot.

SHORI KAI is an unraced daughter of Global View from the Leon Lotz stable with Chad Little in the saddle. If not too green in running, she should give a good account of herself. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.

RACE 3

This is a competitive Merit Rated 74 Handicap and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is FRENCH FLAME who is having his first run for the Gavin Smith stable. It must be noted that multiple horses from his last form line have come out and won since. He has dropped in the ratings and if settled into his new surroundings, he can go close.

GOT THE FEVER lost a length leaving the start over this distance on the polytrack last time and stayed on to finish third. The blinkers seem to have done the trick. Luyolo Mxothwa steps into the saddle and she should give the males a run for their money.

GRAND ALLEGRO followed up his maiden victory with a decent second-place finish over this C&D. He is drawn wide in barrier 11, but gets the services of Muzi Yeni who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

RACE 4

GREENLIGHT LEGEND is unbeaten in three starts since arriving in the Eastern Cape. She ran on well to win her last start over this distance on the polytrack. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight returns from a well-deserved 14-week break which would have done her the world of good. If not in need of the run, she should be the one to beat.

PEDRO has fair recent form lines to his name. Two of his six career victories have come over this distance. He jumps from a good draw of four and should be the first male past the post.

RED WILLIAM won a good race over this distance on the polytrack last time. He received a five-pound penalty for that victory. Two of his four career victories have come on this course. He jumps from pole position once again and merits healthy respect.

RACE 5

DUMISANI stayed on at the finish when fourth over 1400m on this course last time. Her penultimate run when second over 1600m on this course, catches the eye. She has cracked pole position and with her handy galloping mass of 53.5kgs, she can return to winning ways.

HENRY‘S HEDGE followed up his maiden victory with a good fourth-place finish over this C&D. He set the pace that day and stayed on at the finish. He drops back in class and may be hard to peg back.

GEORGE HANDEL tried hard when second over 1600m on the polytrack last time. He gets the tongue-tie fitted which may do the trick. He is carded to race on 12 August 2025 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

Race 6

KNOCKOUT ran a fair race when fifth in the Grade 2 Bet With The World Gold Bracelet last time. She ran a good race when third in the Grade 3 Tote Oaks over 2400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville in her penultimate outing. The daughter of Danon Platina won her only attempt on this course. If all went well with her travels, she may be the one to beat.

LADY SILVANO is better than her last start in the Listed East Cape Paddock Stakes. She finished 0.5 lengths behind HONORABLE MEMBER in her penultimate outing. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

QUEEN OF LOVE hails from the visiting Roy Magner stable. She was disappointing in her last start over 1600m on the Turffontein Inside course. She is a filly with ability and on best form shown, she is capable of contesting the finish here.

RACE 7

MY BEST SHOT returns to the Eastern Cape after running in the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Durban July. The son of Fire Away won his six efforts prior to that outing. He has won twice and finished third once from as many starts over this distance. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and the combination should take a power of beating.

ROYAL AUSSIE is better than his last start in the Grade 3 Post Merchants. He has won twice, finished second twice and third once from 11 starts over this distance. He should enjoy racing on this track and may be the horse to fill the exacta spot.

ZINOVI won a good race in his last start over this C&D. The son of Heavenly Blue is clearly in a good space and should earn another cheque.

RACE 8

ANUSCHKA‘S WORLD was not disgraced when second over 1000m on this course last time. He found one too good in the form of Kingdundee that day. He has finished second twice and third twice from five starts over this C&D. The son of One World is the best-weighted runner in this contest with 52kgs on his back, and can return to winning ways.

GIMME‘S LADDIE finished 0.1 lengths behind FOREST SPY last time. He is 8kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

CLIFF TOP finished 2 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 6kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around
