Winning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday 6th April where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge
Race 1
GURKHA returns from a 12-week break and is having his first run in KZN. He had to overcome a wide draw over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. His first three outings in the Western Cape were encouraging. The son of Fire Away has cracked a handy draw of five and if suited to this track, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
MASTER DU ROUVRAY showed good improvement in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He raced from a handy position and rallied late to finish second. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
FIRELIGHTER finished second over 1200m on this course last time. The son of Last Winter will enjoy the step up to 1400m and from pole position, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 2
BEACH PALACE was given a well-timed ride when winning his last start over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Potala Palace was reported to be coughing which makes the effort that much more encouraging. He jumps from a good draw of two and can follow up with another victory.
MAC HARDY won a game race in his last start over this distance on the polytrack. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
EVENTIDOR was running on when seventh over 1800m last time. He finished 0.85 lengths behind the second selection in his penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms and he may have to settle for the same result.
Race 3
CAPSAICIN may not have seen out 1800m last time. He received a bump leaving the start and over raced in the early stages. He ran a good race in his penultimate run over 1600m after another horse cut his throat up front. The son of Canford Cliffs is likely to get his own way in front from barrier four and can return to winning ways.
GOLDEN DESTINY is a winner of his last two starts. It must be noted that the horse that finished third in his last outing has come out and won since. If all went well with his travels, he can bring up the hat-trick.
TYRCONNELL has good consistent form lines to his credit. He has won three times, finished second twice and third twice from as many starts over this distance. With luck in running, he should be competitive.
Race 4
SHINY BOB finished 1.3 lengths behind BASIE RAAKVAT last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today. The son of Flying The Flag has dropped to a competitive rating and should love the rise to 1800m. Jabu Jacobs retains the ride and he would not be a shock winner.
BASIE RAAKVAT has improved in his last two starts on this course. He finished 1.2 lengths behind KING BAVARIAN in his penultimate run. He is 5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
ANIMAL IMPACT finished 0.6 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.
Race 5
QUATERMAIN ran on from last when fourth over 2000m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. It must be noted that Immediate Edge has come out and won again since. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off his back which will assist his cause. The son of Erupt jumps from a good draw of four and if all went well with his travels, he may be the one to beat.
FIELD MARSHAL should have finished closer to the winner last time. He won his only attempt over this distance, four runs ago. He jumps from a good draw of three and is one of the leading contenders.
SPIRIT OF LEVANA ran a good race when third over 1600m last time. The daughter of Fire Away should love the rise to 1800m. She is having her peak run and should give the males a run for their money.
Race 6
MUSIC IS LIFE ran a fair race over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He returns from a 19- week break which may have done him the world of good. He has finished second once and third twice from as many starts over this distance. The son of Oratorio takes a drop in class and if not in need of the run, he can win a race of this nature.
INAFIX showed good speed when winning his last start over this distance at Turffontein. Calvin Habib retains the ride and the combination merit healthy respect.
PURPLE POWAHOUSE has decent recent form lines to his credit. The son of What A Winter is at his best over further. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
Race 7
VISION TO ACHIEVE has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She showed good speed against male company last time and stayed on at the finish. She has won once and finished second once from three starts over this C&D. She is back against her own sex and Gavin Lerena may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
SAHARA DAWN stayed on when fifth over this C&D last time. She should have finished closer as she hung inwards in the final 350m. If keeping on a straight line, she should be right there.
THE QUEEN BEE won a good race in her last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. With a bit of luck from her awkward draw of nine, she can show.
Race 8
EL DANTE caught the eye when eighth over 1000m on this course last time. He was settled near the rear of the field and finished off his race strongly. The son of Wylie Hall would have come on from the run and should love the extra 200m on offer. He does have a wide draw to overcome but gets the services of Muzi Yeni who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
MOYA WA LALIGA was running on when second over 1400m on the polytrack last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He jumps from a good draw of two and must be included in all bets.
WHO BLINKED stayed on after a slow start over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this distance. He is a solid back-up for the MJ Odendaal yard.
Race 9
FUTURE FLO is a winner of his last two starts, the latest of which was over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He raced from just off the pace, moved up well and kept finding all the way to the line. He has won once and finished third five times from seven starts over this distance. He is in a good space and can bring up the hat-trick.
RICH FOLKS HOAX stayed on when third over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. He is at his best over further and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
KING OF SPIN won a game race in his last start over 1400m on the polytrack. The son of Canford Cliffs received a six-pound penalty for that victory. With a bit of luck in running, he should have a say
