Race 1 

BACK FROM WAR is better than her last start in the Listed Wilgerbosdrift Ruffian Stakes as she was reported to have choked up. The daughter of Act Of War will enjoy the rise to 1450m and Craig Zackey may be able to get the best out of her.

CONCORDIA stayed on when fourth over 1160m on the Standside course. The daughter of Rabada is a progressive type and will love the extra distance on offer. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and she is one of the leading contenders.

FAIR PROPOSAL is an unraced daughter of Legislate from the Barend Botes stable with Calvin Habib in the saddle. She is related to four-time winner Intrepid Traveller. If not too green in running, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.

Race 2

CURTISS CONDOR should have finished closer to the winner on debut. He lost a length leaving the start and hung inwards in the final 200m. The son of Lancaster Bomber would have come on from the run and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the one to beat.

OLD FASHIONED has finished second in his last two starts. The son of Canford Cliffs should enjoy the rise to 1200m. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

MISTY METAL has fair form lines to her credit. She stayed on when fourth in a work riders race last time. The daughter of Danon Platina will enjoy the rise to 1200m and she may give the males a run for their money.

Race 3

TRAIL RUNNER was not disgraced when third against male company over 1160m on the Standside course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber is back against her own sex and she may be the one to side with.

BLINDFIRE ran a fair race over 1160m on the Standside course last time. The daughter of Willow Magic is a progressive type and she is one of the leading contenders.

BRIGHT AND BRAZEN took on winners in the Listed Wilgerbosdrift Ruffian Stakes last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She tries the 1200m and if seeing out the extra 200m on offer, she can show.

Race 4

ARISTOTLE tried hard when second over 1600m on the Standside course last time. His last victory came over 1400m. The son of Rafeef is the best-weighted runner in this contest and can return to winning ways.

GIMMEANOTHERCHANCE is better than his last start in the Grade 2 TAB Hawaii Stakes as the jockey reported something to be amiss in running. He has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this C&D. On best form shown, he should be involved at the finish.

ROYAL FORCE finished 5.1 lengths behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

Race 5

FROZEN FANTASY won a good race despite the saddle reported to have slipped last time. She showed pace and kept finding to hold all challengers at bay. She is the best-weighted runner in this contest and can follow up with another victory.

POINTER stayed on when third over 1400m on the Standside course last time. It must be noted that Oxalis Gold has come out and won again since. The daughter of Canford Cliffs merits healthy respect.

FRANCILIEN was outrun late when facing male company in her last start over 1160m on the Standside course. Her best form has come under Gavin Lerena. She jumps from pole position and cannot be ignored.

 

 

Race 6

PLUS FOUR found plenty of betting support when winning his stable debut over this C&D. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. Gavin Lerena retains the ride and the combination can follow up with another victory.

JUST VAR is a winner of his last two starts over 1400m on the Standside course. The son of Var is likely to race on the speed and can bring up the hat-trick.

THERES A LIGHT finished 1.5 lengths behind Just Var last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

Race 7

Trainer Tyrone Zackey holds a strong hand in this contest and can saddle the first two past the post. LA MOOHAL was running on when third over this distance on the Standside course last time. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and he may be able to get the best out of him.

FLASHY APACHE stayed on at the finish when second over 2000m on the Standside course last time. Apprentice Nirvan Nastili takes the 2.5kgs off his back and he is a solid back-up for the yard.

STAR COIN finished 0.4 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. 

Race 8

DJ JUNIOR has good recent form lines to his credit. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in his last outing has come out and won since. He won his penultimate outing over this C&D. The 6yo gelding will be mowing down the frontrunners and can notch up his fourth-career victory.

DANCE KING quickened up well when winning his last start over 1600m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. Wesley Marwing retains the ride and the combination merit healthy respect.

DARK SILVER stayed on strongly when second over 2000m on this course last time. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of eight, he can feature.

Race 9

EXCEEDINGLY GLAM lost a length leaving the start last time and stayed on to finish fifth. She has taken a slight drop in the ratings and if jumping on terms, she can return to winning ways.

ONE PARTY took the lead at the 100m mark last time before getting touched off by Blizzard Snow. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and she is one of the leading contenders.

IN THE ETHER held on where it matters most when winning her last start over 1000m on the Vaal Classic course. She has won once, finished second twice and third once from seven starts over this distance. She is in a good space and can feature
