SARDINIA BAY was in need of his debut effort over 1000m on this course. The son of Pathfork would have gained from the experience and should love the extra 200m on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should be competitive.

GETUPANDGO returns from a 10-week break during which time he was gelded. He ran a fair race on debut over 1000m on this course. The son of Gimmethegreenlight has scope and if jumping on terms, he can show.

Race 2

INSIDE VOICE has produced two good runs to date. She moved up well over this C&D last time, before getting outrun late. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Pathfork is coming along the right way and she can shed her maiden tag.

DU MAURIER ran a good race on debut over this C&D. She raced from just off the pace, but found one too good in the form of She’s My World. The daughter of Captain Of All would have gained from the experience and she is one of the leading contenders.

MARKETA finished 1.25 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

Race 3

TUNGUSKA challenged strongly over 1700m last time, but found one too good in the form of Show Off. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He has cracked a good draw of two and with Andrew Fortune retaining the ride, he can go one better.

SIGNOR DANTE showed good improvement when third over 1400m last time. The son of Rafeef will love the extra 200m on offer. He is a progressive type and should be involved at the finish.

GALLIC FORGE ran a fair race when fifth over 1200m last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He will strip a much fitter horse and can finish in the placings.

Race 4

DAWN TILL DUSK is much better than his last start in the Grade 1 SplashOut Cape Derby. He returns from a 13-week break which would have done him the world of good. His last victory came over this C&D. If not in need of the run, he can bring up his third-career victory.

AIR RAID’S last two starts have been good. He finished 0.75 lengths behind the top selection, four runs ago. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

PLEASE BE TRUE finished 0.9 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around. He will strip much fitter and will be doing his best work at the finish.

Race 5

HAPPY VERSE produced a strong finish when winning on debut over 1200m. The son of Vercingetorix should love the rise to 1400m. He takes on stronger but he could be anything, and can remain unbeaten.

ISCHYRO was an easy winner of his last start over this distance. He received a five-pound penalty for that victory. With a bit of luck from his wide draw, he should go close.

SUN DAZED should have finished closer last time as he was held up for a run from the 400m mark to the 150m mark. He does have a wide draw to overcome, but he gets the services of Aldo Domeyer who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

 

 

Race 6

BEER WITH THE BOYS is better than his last start over 1600m. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Silvano runs well for Jockey JP van der Merwe. On his previous form, he is capable of returning to winning ways.

MIDWAY finished 1.4 lengths behind COUNT WILLIAM last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. With a bit of luck in running, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

BATON ROUGE set the pace over this distance last time, but found one too good in the form of Dubbelosix. He finished 1.2 lengths behind the top selection in his penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

Race 7

TIME FOR LOVE won a game race in the Listed Ladies Mile last time. She has won once, finished second once and third twice from five starts over this C&D. Gavin Lerena knows her well and the combination may be hard to peg back.

FUN ZONE finished 0.7 lengths behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish. She finished third in her only C&D attempt and cannot be ignored.

GOLD POKER GAME finished 0.75 lengths behind the top selection in the race referred to above. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. The daughter of Gold Standard will be doing her best work at the finish.

Race 8

GARRIX was given a peach of a ride when winning the Grade 3 Legal Eagle Stakes last time. The son of Vercingetorix is unbeaten from two starts since the gelding. He should have no issues with the rise to 1950m and he can bring up the hat-trick.

OTTO LUYKEN was touched off when second behind GARRIX last time. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the son of Flower Alley. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

MUCHO DINERO produced a strong finish when third last time. He would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. Richard Fourie retains the ride and the combination should fight out the finish.

Race 9

THE US OF A was an easy winner of his last start over this C&D. He received a five-pound penalty for that victory. The son of The United States meets a similar line-up and despite having to carry 64kgs, he should follow up with another victory.

TOUGH TERRAIN finished 2.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

COUNTER ATTACK finished 3.15 lengths behind the top choice in the race referred to above. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights which is not enough for the tables to be turned. However, he should finish closer.

Race 10

WAR CHARIOT set the pace over this distance last time before getting caught late by Green Garnet. He is in a good space and jumps from a handy draw of five. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

THOMAS JENKINS shed his maiden tag over this distance last time. He raced from a handy position and found extra where it matters most. The gelding has done the trick and with Andrew Fortune retaining the ride, he can go close.
