scottsvilleWinning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Saturday 31st May where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge

Race 1

WORLD OF ROYALTY ran a good race on debut over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He raced from a handy position and stayed on nicely at the finish. The son of One World would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he may be the one to beat.

LET’S GO LOLA understandably raced green on debut over 1160m at Turffontein, but the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The daughter of Hat Puntano would have come on from the run and if all went well with her travels, she should be competitive.

THAT’LL B THE DAY was in need of his debut effort over 1200m on the polytrack. The son of Vercingetorix would have gained from the experience and may prefer racing on the turf. With the natural improvement that is expected, he can finish in the placings.

Race 2

PROMISE OF FIRE tried hard when touched off over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the daughter of Fire Away. She should have no issues with the rise to 1600m and from her good draw of three, she can go one better.

FINE WINE made the natural improvement when third over 1200m last time. The daughter of Futura will love the rise to 1600m. She is a progressive type and is one of the leading contenders.

SCARLETT HEART hails from the visiting Fanie Bronkhorst stable. She is lightly raced with fair form lines to her name. The daughter of Querari should be at home over the extra furlong. If all went well with her travels, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 3

FAIZAH’S last two starts have been good. She should have finished closer to the winner last time as she hung outwards in the final 300m. She won her penultimate run over this C&D. The daughter of Querari is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from her wide draw, and she will be mowing down the frontrunners.

PRINCESS ILARIA has good recent form lines to her credit. She stayed on when second over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time. The daughter of Pomodoro drops in class and she should pose a threat.

ONE SMART COOKIE is a winner of her last two starts, the latest of which was over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. She steps up to the mile and the blinkers have been removed. She is in a good space and can bring up the hat-trick.

Race 4

EL DANTE’S last start is best ignored as he was reported to be not striding out. His two prior efforts over shorter were encouraging. The 7yo gelding has won once and finished second once from three starts over this C&D. The booking of Marco van Rensburg is a big plus and he may be the one to cause the upset.

FORWARD MOTION ran a fair race when fourth last time. Her penultimate run when second behind Give Me Everything catches the eye. 4kgs claiming apprentice Jacey Botes steps back into the saddle and if getting her own way in front, she may be hard to peg back.

INGQWELE was an easy winner of his last start over this C&D. He raced from a handy position, quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. He races in the same class and can follow up with another victory.

Race 5

ONE FINE WINTER won the Grade 3 TAB Pretty Polly Stakes a lot easier than the official margin suggests. The manner in which she quickened away from the field that day was eye-catching. Sean Tarry has had a lot of success on this day and she may give him his first Grade 1 of the afternoon.

DIRECT HIT is unbeaten from three starts to date. She showed good speed when winning the Listed East Cape Nursery last time. Her penultimate run when winning the Grade 3 SplashOut Cape Of Good Hope Nursery was super-impressive. The daughter of Canford Cliffs clearly has class about her and she can remain unbeaten.

COMIC RELIEF is unbeaten from two starts to date. She returns from a 20-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. If seeing out the 1200m, she should finish in the placings

Race 6

GREEN DIAMOND was ultra-impressive when winning the Grade 3 TAB Protea Stakes last time. She showed good speed, found another kick and she was geared down. She won the Grade 2 TAB SA Nursery in her penultimate run. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is the class horse in this contest and she should take a power of beating.

CHARMING CHEETAH showed good speed when winning his last start over 1160m at Turffontein. He finished 4.2 lengths behind the top selection in his penultimate effort. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and he may be the horse to fill the exacta spot.

ZALATORIS finished 0.2 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

Race 7

ASIYE PHAMBILI moved up well in the Grade 3 Dennis Drier Poinsettia Stakes last time, before getting outrun late by Mai Sensation. She is 7kgs better off at the weights today which is enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of What A Winter will strip much fitter. Sean Veale retains the ride and he will be looking to make amends.

MIA MOO is a winner of her last two starts, the latest of which was in the Grade 2 TAB Camellia Stakes. The daughter of Vercingetorix has found a new lease of life and she can bring up the hat-trick.

MRS BROWNING finished 1.7 lengths behind CHASING HAPPINESS last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. She finished second in this race last year and will be looking to go one better.

Race 8

WINDS OF CHANGE finished strongly when third in the Grade 1 TAB Computaform Sprint last time. He finished third in the Grade 1 Gold Medallion last year. Both his career victories have come under Gavin Lerena. The son of What A Winter is loaded with class and if jumping on terms, he can notch up his first Grade 1 victory.

SURJAY found one too good in the form of Gimme A Prince in the Grade 1 HKJC World Pool Cape Flying Championship last time. He returns from an 18-week break which may have done him the world of good. If not in need of this outing, he should be involved at the finish.

CRUISE CONTROL showed good speed before getting outrun late in the Grade 1 TAB Computaform Sprint last time. He finished fourth in this race last year. Sean Veale steps back into the saddle and the combination merit healthy respect.

Race 9

BOURBON WARRIOR should have finished closer to the winner last time. He was squeezed leaving the start and hung inwards in the closing stages. The son of Potala Palace has won twice and finished third once from four starts over this C&D. He gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep his mind on the task at hand. He takes a drop in class and with luck in running, he can return to winning ways.

UN BEL DI has good consistent form lines to his credit. He returns from an 11-week break but did gallop at Hollywoodbets Greyville on 14 May 2025. If taking to this course, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

GUY GIBSON was running on when fourth over 1160m at Turffontein last time. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. Andrew Fortune retains the ride and he should be competitive.

Race 10

KOTINOS’ last two starts have been fair. He has won twice and finished third three times from nine starts over this distance. The son of Var has dropped in the ratings. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

PURPLE POWAHOUSE is better than his last start over this distance on the polytrack. He finished 0.7 lengths behind ONE IRISH ROVER, three runs ago. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is carded to race on 28 May 2025 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

NOW I GOT YOU is a winner of his last two starts, the latest of which was over this C&D. He gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Dezahn Louw who is having his third ride. The son of Admiral Kitten is in a good space and can bring up the hat-trick
