STAR IN MOTION made the expected natural improvement when second over this C&D last time. He raced from a handy position but found one too good in the form of Count Of Rouen. He is a progressive type and can go one better.

VICTOR HUGO lost two lengths leaving the start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time and stayed on to finish second. He would have come on from the outing and if jumping on terms, he may be the one to fill the exacta spot.

EMOYENI showed speed when second over 1000m on the turf last time, but found one too good in the form of City Of Love. He would have come on from the run and should strip fitter. If taking to the polytrack, he should be right there at the finish.

Race 2

LINE IN THE SKY was not disgraced when third against male company over this C&D last time. She should have finished closer as she lost two lengths leaving the start and was inconvenienced at the 200m mark. The daughter of Danon Platina is back in Maiden Company and if jumping on terms, she may be the one to beat.

GORGEOUS BOMB was a tad disappointing in her last start over 1000m on the turf. She would have come on from the run and if taking to the polytrack, she should fight out the finish.

CHAMPAGNE PROBLEMS ran a decent race when fourth over 1000m on the turf last time. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. There may be more to come from her.

Race 3

L’ULTIMO produced a typical second run after a rest at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He finished 0.7 lengths behind MAC HARDY in his penultimate run. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Both his career victories have come on this course and he may be the one to side with.

GORGEOUS DUDE’S last three starts have been good. It must be noted that multiple horses from his last form line have come out and won since. Athandiwe Mgudlwa is likely to use his early gate speed to overcome the widest draw and he may be hard to peg back.

MAC HARDY finished 0.85 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

Race 4

SILVER PLATTER has finished second in his last four starts. He raced from a handy position over 1800m last time, tried hard but found one too good in the form of Master Bomber. He is having his peak run today and from pole position, he may be rewarded for consistency.

LIMELIGHT LEGEND raced from a handy position over 1800m last time, but found one too good in the form of Harun Al Rashid. The son of Gimmethegreenlight tries the 2000m and with luck in running, he should pose a threat.

KING CELTILLUS was in need of his last start over 1600m on the turf. He would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. Gavin Lerena rides from a good draw of two and he cannot be discounted.

Race 5

QUEEN AMINA finished off her race well over 1800m on the turf last time. She finished third in her only attempt on this course, three runs ago. The daughter of Act Of War has cracked a good draw of two. If Tristan Godden is able to switch her off early, she can go one better.

MISTER NIBBLES ran on strongly when winning his last start over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he will love the rise to 2000m. With luck in running, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

RAGNAR THE KING finished 1.5 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

JEANNE DARC is better than her last start in the Grade 2 WSB Fillies Guineas as she was reported to be not striding out. She ran a good race when fourth in the Grade 3 Umzimkhulu Stakes in her penultimate run. The daughter of William Longsword has ability and if suited to the polytrack, she should go close.

GOODNESSGRACIOUSME was her own worst enemy in the Listed The Independent On Saturday Insider East Coast Cup. She would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. On previous form, she should be involved at the finish.

LOCK AND KEY stayed on after racing wide around the turn over 1200m last time. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. The daughter of Master Of My Fate won her only attempt on this course and she can find a form return.

Race 7

MANEKI NEKO ran a fair race in his first run in KZN. He stayed on at the finish over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. The son of Danon Platina takes a drop in class and will strip much fitter. 4kgs claiming apprentice Mxolisi Mbuto retains the ride and he would not be a shock winner.

GRIFFIN PARK has finished third in his last two starts with the blinkers fitted. The son of Querari is at his best on this surface. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

PURPLE POWAHOUSE is better than his last start over 1200m on this course. He has finished second three times and third three times from eight starts over this C&D. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Race 8

ON BOARD has shown good improvement since relocating to KZN. She ran on well when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. The daughter of Vercingetorix is back against her own sex and if taking to the surface, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

QUENTASIA was given a well-timed ride when winning her last start over this C&D. She is in a good space and with 4kgs claiming apprentice Mxolisi Mbuto retaining the ride, she merits healthy respect.

DRIVE BY is better than her last start over this C&D. She won a game race over this distance on the turf in her penultimate run. If putting her best foot forward, she should be involved at the finish.

Race 9

GOLDEN DESTINY is better than his last start as he was reported to be not striding out. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. On his previous form, he should be the one to beat.

NELSON BAY has good recent form lines to his name. All four of his career victories have come over this distance. He has cracked pole position and is one of the leading contenders.

LEGAL COUNSEL is better than his last start in the Listed WSB Sledgehammer. Two of his three career victories have come over this distance. He is drawn widest of all, but gets the services of Andrew Fortune who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

Race 10

NIGHT ROCKER finished 2.45 lengths behind IBUTHO last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Global View won his only attempt over this distance. He will strip a much fitter horse, the blinkers remain fitted and he can return to winning ways.

IBUTHO got up late when winning his last start over 1200m on this course. Two of his eight career victories have come over this C&D. If confirming his recent improvement, he should fight out the finish.

WHITE SEAHORSE stayed on when third over 1600m last time. He meets a similar line-up and from his good draw of three, he should be involved at the finish
