ZAMBEZI SUNSET is an unraced son of Rafeef from the Alan Greeff stable with Richard Fourie in the saddle. He is related to multiple winners including Cian The Conqueror and Bristol Hercules. If not in need of this outing, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other unraced entrants.

ATLANTIC PEARL is a daughter of Gold Standard from the Kelly Mitchley yard and Calvin Habib is booked to ride. If not too green in running, she should give a good account of herself.

RACE 2

GOLDEN GREY was touched off in his last start over 1400m on the polytrack. He finished second over this C&D in his penultimate run. He has been costly to follow since arriving in the Eastern Cape but can get it right today.

GARDEN SUN finished 3 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. He will love the rise to 1600m and should be at peak fitness.

PROLIFIC STAR ran a fair race over 1900m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horses that finished second and third that day have come out and won since. The drop back to 1600m is a slight concern but he will be doing his best work at the finish.

RACE 3

WINTER GAMBLE hails from the visiting Candice Bass-Robinson stable. Her last start is best ignored as she was reported to be not striding out. Her two previous outings were fair. The daughter of What A Winter is having her peak run and if all went well with her travels, she can shed her maiden tag in this line-up.

TWILIGHT BAY set the pace over 1900m last time, but found one too good in the form of Heemstede. She is back against her own sex and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

FANTASY GIRL should have finished closer in a work riders contest last time. She is having her peak run and steps up to 1600m for the first time. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and she can finish in the placings.

RACE 4

ROSE OF BAYEUX produced a typical second run after a rest last time. She was reported to have over reached on her left fore that day. Her penultimate run when fourth over 1400m on this course, catches the eye. She is having her peak run and from her good draw of two, she can return to winning ways.

WALKONTHEWILDSIDE was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over 1400m on this course. She returns from a well-deserved 10-week break. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight should be at home over this distance and with luck in running, she can bring up the hat-trick.

DYNALLEY stayed on when fifth over 1400m last time. It must be noted that Golden Peace has come out and won again since. He drops back in class and if confirming his recent improvement, he should be the first male past the post.

RACE 5

HOME REEF won a game race over 2000m on the polytrack last time. He received a one-pound penalty for that victory. The son of Erupt is in a good space and jumps from pole position. He meets the right field and can follow up with another victory.

MR FOX was an easy winner when shedding his maiden tag over 1600m last time. He should have no issues with the rise to 1900m. The son of Canford Cliffs faces stronger, but he has ability and should be up to the task at hand.

KAROO GOLD ran a fair race over 1600m on the polytrack last time. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. On best form shown, he can win a race of this nature.

 

 

Race 6

FLASH LIGHTNING stayed on at the business end over 1000m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. Both his career victories have come on this course. He will love the rise to 1400m and Marco van Rensburg may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

ANCHOR MAN followed up his maiden win with a good third-place finish over this C&D. He drops in class and with luck from his wide draw of 12, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

WINTER EMERALDS was an easy winner when shedding his maiden tag over 1200m on the polytrack. He raced from a handy position, quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. The son of What A Winter takes on stronger, but he has scope and should be up to the task at hand.

RACE 7

GOLDEN PALM made the trip up to Gauteng worth it by winning the Grade 2 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Nursery last time. She showed good speed, found another kick and drew off late. It must be noted that One Fine Winter has come out and won a Grade 3 since. The daughter of Master Of My Fate will love the rise to 1400m. She jumps from a good draw of three and should take a power of beating.

AUGUSTA ROSSO is a stable companion of the top choice. She ran a fair race in the Listed WSB Dahlia Plate last time. The daughter of Erik The Red should enjoy the extra furlong on offer and she is a solid back-up for the Alan Greeff stable.

SILVA CITY is better than her last start as she was reported to be not striding out. The daughter of Global View tries the tongue-tie which may do the trick. She can finish in the first three.

RACE 8

COASTAL PATH has good consistent form lines to his credit. He stayed on when second over this distance on the polytrack last time. Three of his four career victories have come over this C&D. If keeping on a straight line, he can return to winning ways.

SILVONIAN stayed on to finish second after receiving a bump at the start last time. He has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

SWEET AND TRUE is better than his last start as he was reported to be not striding out. He has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. If finding the form of his penultimate run, he should be involved in the fight to the finish
