Race 1

PAST AND PRESENT raced from a handy position over 1800m last time and tried hard all the way to the line. It must be noted that Umfula has come out and won again since. The son of Gimmethegreenlight tries the 2400m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can go one better.

WAR HAWK finished 3.25 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

WOOD WORLD ran a good race when third over 2000m last time. He steps up to 2400m and the blinkers have been removed. Gavin Lerena may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

Race 2

MISS WILLIAM produced a promising debut effort over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She showed good speed before getting outrun late by Rahhabba. The daughter of William Longsword would have come on from the run and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should be the one to beat.

WILD APPLAUSE was a beaten odds-on favourite in her last start over 1100m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. The daughter of Vercingetorix has plenty of scope and with Richard Fourie back in the saddle, she is one of the leading contenders.

THINGAMABOB was running on when second over 1250m on this course on debut. The daughter of Trippi would have gained from the experience and with luck from her wide draw, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 3

SHOW OFF showed improvement when fourth over 1400m on this course last time. He finished 1.3 lengths behind MONKEY PUZZLE that day. He is 2kgs better off at the weights and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Canford Cliffs is a progressive type and from his good draw of three, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

MONKEY PUZZLE challenged strongly over 1400m last time, but found one too good in the form of Chasingtherainbow. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. From pole position, he may be the one to fill the exacta spot.

GRAN CANARIA returns from a 10-week break, during which time he was gelded. It must be noted that Red Dawn has come out and won again since. If not in need of the run, he should be competitive.

Race 4

BEL CANTO DREAM showed very good improvement to win his maiden over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He raced from a handy position, quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The son of Oratorio takes on stronger, but he has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.

TOUCHDOWN ran on well when beaten a head over this C&D last time. The son of William Longsword is in a good space and is one of the leading contenders.

KING’S QUEST finished 1.85 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

 

 

Race 5

ALL ABOUT RONNIE showed good signs of a form return in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He lost a length leaving the start that day and stayed on to finish fourth. He drops back in Class and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, he can notch up his fourth-career victory.

MOHANDAS stayed on when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. With a bit of luck in running, he should pose a threat.

SUMMER NIGHT CITY took on stronger over this C&D last time. She finished 0.5 lengths behind the second choice in her penultimate run. She is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

Race 6

ISCHYRO stayed on when third over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. His only career victory has come over this C&D. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

NILE THE BOSS finished 0.2 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

TRUE HORIZON finished 1.1 lengths behind TAMBOURINE MAN last time. She is 4.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She jumps from a good draw of three and should give the males a run for their money.

Race 7

CHAMPAGNE KISSES is better than her last start against male company over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. Her penultimate run when finishing 2 lengths behind Roccapina catches the eye. She won her only attempt over this C&D. Gareth Wright rides from a good draw of two and if not in need of this outing, she can return to winning ways.

SOHOT SOWHAT is lightly raced with good form lines to her credit. She took the lead at the 250m mark last time before getting caught late by Jou Lekker Ding. If suited to this course, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

CAPTAIN’S DESTINY has good consistent form lines to her credit. She finished 0.5 lengths behind the second selection in her penultimate run. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today. The daughter of William Longsword merits healthy respect.

Race 8

FIRINGONALLENGINES finished 0.05 lengths behind STREET OUTLAW last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of William Longsword is likely to race on the speed once again and he may be hard to peg back.

COUNTER ATTACK ran a good race when third over 1100m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. He jumps from pole position and should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

PIROSHKA finished 1.35 lengths behind STREET OUTLAW last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish
