SARDINIA BAY made the expected natural improvement when second over 1200m last time. He moved up well that day before getting outrun late. The son of Pathfork has been gelded which may have done the trick. He is a progressive type and is one of the leading contenders. 

ASTRONOMICAL BOY is an unraced son of Gimmethegreenlight from the Candice Bass-Robinson stable with Craig Zackey in the saddle. He is related to multiple winners including Cosmic Highway and Cosmic Speed. If not in need of this outing, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances. 

Race 2

NEBULOUS is the best bet on the programme. She made the expected natural improvement when third over 1000m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of The United States will love the rise to 1200m and unless one of the first timers have ability, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure. 

MEGHAN‘S DIAMOND ran a fair race when fourth over this C&D last time. The daughter of Rafeef has plenty of scope and she may be the horse to fill the exacta spot. 

HAZEL GREEN finished 2.05 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight can improve to finish in the placings. 

Race 3

BEACH VERSE showed good improvement when third over this C&D last time. The daughter of Vercingetorix may be at her best over further, but she is a progressive type and can win a race of this nature. 

CHICKASAW ran a good race when second over this C&D last time. She stayed on at the finish but found one too good in the form of Du Maurier. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is coming along the right way and she should be right there. 

PITERAQ ran a fair race on debut over this C&D. She would have gained from the experience and can improve to finish in the placings.

Race 4

FUN ZONE was doing her best work late when second in the Listed East Cape Paddock Stakes last time. Her last victory came under Jockey Aldo Domeyer. It is a small field and she can notch up her fourth- career victory. 

MIRACULOUS finished 1.55 lengths behind KAMCHATKA last time. She is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of Rafeef may be rewarded for consistency. 

KAMCHATKA won a good race over 1600m on this course last time. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory. She finished second in her penultimate run over this C&D. Corne Orffer steps back into the saddle and the combination merit healthy respect.

 

 

Race 5

ONCIDIUM made good improvement when winning her last start over this C&D. She set the pace, found another kick and drew clear of the opposition. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Danon Platina takes on stronger, but she has scope and should be up to the task at hand. 

MISS NEW YORK‘S last two starts have been fair. She takes a drop in class and from pole position, she may be the horse to cause the upset. 

SENHORA VICTORIA finished 2.1 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 3.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around. She is having her peak run and should be cherry-ripe.

Race 6

CAPTAIN WEST stayed on when third over 1600m on this course last time. He finished 1.45 lengths behind AIR RAID in his penultimate outing. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. He jumps from a good draw of three and merits healthy respect. 

AIR RAID just held on when winning his last start over this C&D. He meets a similar line-up this afternoon and is one of the leading contenders. 

LANDOFTHERISINGSUN followed up his maiden win with an equally impressive victory over 1600m. He returns from a well-deserved 12-week break. He has finished third three times from as many starts over this distance and if not in need of this run, he should be competitive. 

Race 7

GARDEN OF EDEN showed some signs of needing her last start over 1400m on this course. She finished 0.1 lengths behind SUPREME FATE that day. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. She will strip a much fitter horse and from her good draw of two, she may be hard to peg back. 

SUPREME FATE followed up her maiden victory with a decent fourth-place finish over 1400m on this course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. With a bit of luck from her awkward draw of nine, she should be right there at the finish. 

WEHAVEASITUATION finished 1.25 lengths behind BENEATH THE CLOUDS last time. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

Race 8

MARITZBURG MEMORY got up late when winning her last start over this C&D. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory. Apprentice Brevan Plaatjies takes the 1.5kgs off her back which will assist her cause. If jumping on terms, she can follow up with another victory. 

GIRL LIKE US finished 0.2 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. 

SHE‘S MY WORLD ran a good race when third in the Listed Irridescence Stakes last time. She takes on older rivals, but has plenty of scope and should run another honest race
