JAPANESE GARDEN has been a tad disappointing in her last two starts. She finished third in her only attempt over this distance. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

WAR TALK cost herself at the start on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack last time. Her debut effort when fourth over 1000m on the Standside course was fair. She has scope and if jumping on terms, she can show. 

Race 2

ROMILLY is an unraced son of What A Winter from the Johan Janse van Vuuren stable with Gavin Lerena in the saddle. If not in need of this outing, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances. 

BLUSHING BLOOM is the stable companion of the top choice. She showed good improvement when fourth over 1000m on the Standside course last time. The daughter of Flower Alley is a progressive type and she may have more to come. 

UMZINGELI WENYATHI has run two decent races to date. The son of Buffalo Bill Cody should have no issues with the rise to 1200m. He jumps from pole position and merits healthy respect.

Race 3

MIDNIGHT MIRACLE has shown very good improvement in each of her races to date. She showed good speed over 1160m on the Standside course last time before getting caught late. The daughter of Master Of My Fate is having her peak run and will be cherry-ripe. She is a progressive type and may be the one to beat. 

WINTER BELLE finished 2.25 lengths behind the top selection last time. She was reported to be not striding out and fatigued that day. The daughter of What A Winter has scope and she is one of the leading contenders. 

RED HOT KISSES showed massive improvement when third over this distance on the Standside course last time. If confirming her recent improvement, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 4

BUMPS LAST GRIND raced from just off the pace over this distance on the Standside course last time, but found one too good in the form of Ready Set Fire. The son of William Longsword is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. He can go one better in this line-up. 

INSPECTOR JAMES should have finished closer last time as he was steadied late. He returns from a 12-week break. Muzi Yeni rides on his return and with a bit of luck in running, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice. 

RINGHO finished 3.8 lengths behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. 

 

 

Race 5

NKWENKWEZI set the pace over 1500m on this course last time and tried hard all the way to the line. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. Calvin Habib retains the ride and she may be rewarded for consistency. 

PARABELLUM stayed on at the finish over 1450m on this course last time. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. If Philasande Mxoli is able to switch him off early, he should be the first male past the post. 

GREENLIGHT RACER has shown improvement in each of his outings to date. He was slow into stride last time and stayed on at the finish. The son of Gimmethegreenlight will love the rise to 1600m and with luck from the widest draw, he should be involved.

Race 6

SPECIAL STAR is an unraced daughter of Danon Platina from the Mike and Mathew de Kock stable with Callan Murray in the saddle. She is related to Gimme A Nother who was unbeaten from seven starts in South Africa. If not in need of the run, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances. 

STAMPEDE AHEAD ran a decent race on debut over 1400m on the Standside course. She would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should be the first raced runner past the post. 

MERRYWEATHER stayed on when third over 1160m on the Standside course last time. She is having her peak run and will be cherry-ripe. Gavin Lerena retains the ride and she can show. 

Race 7

NIGHT BOMBER tired late when fourth over 1160m on the Standside course last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has won three times and finished second twice from ten starts over this distance. The blinkers should keep his mind on the task at hand and he may be hard to peg back. 

PASSAGE OF POWER is better than his last start as he was reported to be not striding out. On previous form, he should be involved in the fight to the line. 

YAMADORI was reported to be coughing last time. He has finished second once and third once from as many starts on this course. If finding the form of his penultimate run, he should go close. 

Race 8

PLUS FOUR was not beaten far over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. He has won once and finished second once from as many starts on this course. He is having his peak run and back on the Highveld, he should notch up his third-career victory. 

WINGS WITHIN ME ran a good race when second over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. Should the top choice fluff his lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

EXCEEDINGLY GLAM won a game race over 1160m on the Standside course last time. She finished third in her only attempt over this distance. She is in a good space and merits healthy respect
