DESERT CLOUD was finishing strongly when second in her local debut over this C&D. She may have cost herself winning as she hung in the closing stages. Luyolo Mxothwa is booked to ride, and she should go one better.
GOLDEN ALEXIA is having her first run for the Kelly Mitchley stable. It must be noted that the horse that finished third in her last outing has come out and won since. She finished second in her only attempt over this distance and if settled into her new surroundings, she should go close.

ENCHANTING CHOICE is a winner of her two local efforts on the turf. She kept finding to win her last start over this distance. MERCANTOUR is the stable companion of the top choice. He finished 1.5 lengths behind CHAMPONELLE last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

CRUZADOR has finished fourth in his last three starts. He was his own worst enemy over 1400m last time as he over raced in the early stages. He has won once, finished second once and third twice from nine starts over this C&D. The 7yo gelding has dropped to a competitive rating and on best form shown, he can win a race of this nature.
WORDSWORTH is better than his last start as he was reported to be fatigued and tying up. Four of his five career victories have come over this distance. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
