Race 1

It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She jumps from pole position and can shed her maiden tag. 

PRETTY PERSUASIVE made the expected natural improvement when winning her last start over 1400m on the Standside course. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

SPIRITRIX finished 1.3 lengths behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result. 

Race 2

TOP DIVISION was an impressive winner on debut over 1000m on this course. He showed a good turn of foot and won a lot easier than the official margin suggests. The son of Gimmethegreenlight should love the rise to 1200m and with a bit of luck in running, he can remain unbeaten. 

GOT THE FEELING lacked a strong finish over 1160m on the Standside course last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. If finding the form of his debut victory, he should pose a threat. 

SUNSET WARRIOR is better than his last start against older rivals. He won a good race when shedding his maiden tag over 1000m on the Vaal Classic course in his penultimate run. He has scope and can finish in the placings.

Race 3

FRERE JACQUES took time to find his feet on debut, but stayed on to finish second. He returns from an 18-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. The son of Louis The King should love the extra distance on offer. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride, and if not in need of the run, he can go close. 

SAFE TRAVEL has finished third in both his efforts to date. He stayed on at the finish over 1000m on the Standside course last time. The son of Elusive Fort will love the rise to 1450m and should be right there. 

JOHNNY DRAMA had excuses over 1400m on the Standside course last time. It must be noted that Chieftain’s Shield has come out and won again since. He will be at peak fitness and can earn another cheque for his patrons. 

Race 4

WISE COUNSEL has produced two decent races to date. She stayed on when third over 1160m on the Standside course last time. The daughter of Fire Away is a progressive type and will love the rise to 1450m. With a bit of luck in running, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure. 

WINDS OF GRACE returns from a 12-week break which would have done her the world of good. She finished second over this C&D last time, despite excuses. If not in need of the run, she may be the horse to fill the exacta spot. 

RENDEVOUS IN RIO found one too good in the form of Tuscan Romance last time. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will love the rise to 1450m. With a bit of luck in running, she can feature. 

Race 5

HOPSCOTCH stayed on when third over 1500m on this course last time. The daughter of William Longsword will love the rise to 1800m. She is drawn wide in barrier 10, but gets the services of Gavin Lerena who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle. 

MATTIAZO showed signs of needing her last start over 2000m on the Standside course. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. If finding the form of her penultimate run, she should complete the exacta. 

BELLA BOOP BOOP‘S last three starts have been decent. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

 

 

Race 6

HEROIC ACT stayed on at the finish after a slow start over 2400m at the Vaal last time. He gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Girish Dookhit which will assist his cause. In this type of field, he can shed his maiden tag. 

MIZZEN SWORD finished 0.75 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 4kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. 

SERGEANT SOQRAT showed good improvement when second over 1400m on the Standside course last time. The booking of Gavin Lerena is a big plus. He is carded to race on 10 July 2025 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored. 

Race 7

CAPTAIN EFFICIENT has consistent form lines to his name. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth in his last outing has come out and won since. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. Piere Strydom is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most. 

MISTY METAL showed good speed when winning her maiden over this distance on the Standside course. She takes on stronger, but has scope and should be up to the task at hand. 

LONELY AS A CLOUD raced with his tongue over the bit last time. He continues to drop in the ratings and on best form shown, he can feature. 

Race 8

MISS HANNIGAN showed a good turn of foot when winning her last start over 1400m on the Standside course. She has won once and finished third twice from seven starts over this distance. She is in a good space and with a bit of luck from the widest draw, she can follow up with another victory. 

FRANCINE finished 1.65 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today which is enough to turn the form around. However, MISS HANNIGAN won easier than the official margin suggests and may still have the upper hand. 

QUEEN OF LOVE showed good signs of a form return last time. She is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. She runs well for Piere Strydom and cannot be ignored. 

Race 9

 AZALEAS FOR ALL kept finding when winning her last start over 2000m on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. She is in a good space and merits healthy respect. 

PLAY WITH FIRE is better than her last start over this C&D. On previous form, she should be involved in the fight to the finish. 

ANNEWITHAN E won a good race over 1800m at the Vaal last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. She is in a good space and must be considered.

Race 10

COMMANDER OF ALL showed some signs of needing his last start over 1400m on the Standside course. He would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. Jason Gates knows him well and he would not be a shock winner. 

PHIL THE FLUTER was an easy winner of his last start over 1600m at the Vaal. He takes on stronger, but it is encouraging that Gavin Lerena has been booked to ride. From pole position, he should give a good account of himself. 

CAN‘T CATCH ME was outrun late when fourth over 1400m at the Vaal last time. If confirming her recent improvement in this field, she can show
