RACE 1

BUDDLEJA should have finished closer to the winner over this distance on the turf last time, as she hung inwards in the final 500m. The daughter of Master Of My Fate tries the polytrack and she is back against her own sex. She meets the right field and can shed her maiden tag. 

JUST ONE KISS lost two lengths leaving the start on debut and she was reported to be not striding out. She returns from a 10-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. She tries the tongue-tie and from pole position, she can show good improvement. 

BAABOOO is an unraced daughter of Captain Of All from the Kelly Mitchley stable with Sandile Khathi booked to ride. She is related to multiple winners including European Summer and Miss Venezuela. If not too green in running, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances. 

RACE 2

IVY did not go on with the effort over 1200m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. The daughter of Act Of War gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Jacey Botes and with a light mass, she may be hard to peg back. 

BROOKSIDER finished 2.5 lengths behind STAND UP last time. He is 5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. 

STAND UP ran a fair race over 1200m on this course last time. He drops back to 1000m and in this field, he would not be a shock winner.

RACE 3

WILD FIG cost himself winning last time as he hung inwards in the final 400m. He was touched off in his penultimate run over this trip on the turf. He is having his first outing on the polytrack and will be fitted with a tongue-tie. If taking to the surface, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure. 

PYRO EDITION showed good improvement in his local debut over this distance on the turf. He took a keen hold in the early stages, but stayed on at the finish. The son of Erupt will strip much fitter and he may be the horse to fill the exacta spot. 

PIBE DE ORO showed massive improvement when second in his stable debut, on Monday. Luyolo Mxothwa is booked to ride and if this run has not come too soon, he should be competitive. 

RACE 4

COASTAL PATH is an honest type who has consistent form lines to his credit. He received a bump leaving the start over 1200m last time and stayed on to finish third. If getting away to a clean start from barrier three, he can notch up his fifth-career victory. 

GUARDING THE WALL was an easy winner of his last start over this C&D. He set the pace, found a good kick and won with a ton in hand. The son of Querari is in a good space and merits healthy respect. 

ROTOTO finished 2.25 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today which is enough for the tables to be turned. However, GUARDING THE WALL won easier than the official margin suggests and may still have the upper hand.

 

 

RACE 5

PARIS LASS showed good speed when winning the Listed Milkwood Stakes at a nice price last time. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory. The daughter of Visionaire has won four times and finished third once from nine starts over this C&D. Apprentice Nirvan Nastili takes the 2.5kgs off her back and she can follow up with another victory. 

ELLORIX raced wide around the turn when 8.05 lengths behind the top selection last time. Her previous two starts were good. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and she is one of the leading contenders. 

GOLDEN PAVILION has very good recent form lines to his credit. He won a good race over 1200m on this course last time. He is ideally better suited to further, but is in a good space and should be the first male past the post. 

Race 6

SWEET JULIA has finished second in both her local efforts. The jockey reported that he felt something amiss despite finishing second over 1000m last time. The daughter of What A Winter steps back up to 1200m. She is having her peak run and with luck in running, she may be the horse to beat. 

SMASHING has good recent form lines to her name. She finished 1 length behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish. 

STRANGE MAGIC has taken on stronger company in her last two starts. She has finished third in both her efforts over this C&D. The daughter of Erupt takes a drop in class and Luyolo Mxothwa may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most. 

RACE 7

FAMILY POWER was super-impressive when winning her local debut over this distance on the turf. She showed a good turn of foot and drew clear of the opposition. The daughter of Louis The King tries the polytrack and if taking to the surface, she can follow up with another victory. 

BOSNAY comes off a victory in the Non-Black Type Walmer Handicap. She has won once, finished second once and third once from five starts over this C&D. 4kgs claiming apprentice Jacey Botes retains the ride and she may be hard to peg back. 

TREASURE HUNT moved up well over 1400m last time, but found one too good in the form of Umzolozolo. She meets a similar line-up this afternoon and merits healthy respect. 

RACE 8

BEER WITH THE BOYS hails from the visiting Justin Snaith stable. He ran a fair race when fourth over 1950m on the Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Winter course last time. He carries a suitable weight of 58kgs and jumps from a good draw of four. If taking to the surface, he should return to winning ways. 

DARLING HARBOUR has decent recent form lines to her name. She finished 1.1 lengths behind TAKE YOUR TIME in her penultimate run. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. 

TAKE YOUR TIME stayed on when sixth over 1600m on this course, on Monday. Her form prior to that outing was good. If this run has not come too soon, she should be involved at the finish
