Race 1

GOTTA GO EDDIE raced from just off the pace over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time, but found one too good in the form of Mighty Zambezi. That was his first effort as a gelding and he will strip much fitter. He meets the right field and if taking to the polytrack, he can shed his maiden tag. 

BINGO was a tad disappointing over 1000m at Turffontein last time. His penultimate run when second catches the eye. If all went well with his travels, he may be the horse to fill the exacta spot. 

SOVEREIGN COMMAND should have finished a lot closer to the winner last time. He raced wide around the turn and hung inwards in the final 200m. Gavin Lerena rides and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

Race 2

ACT OF GRACE has shown good improvement in each of her outings to date. She was touched off when second over 1400m on the turf last time. The daughter of Act Of War should have no issues with the rise to 1600m. She jumps from a good draw and can go one better. 

CARNARVON has fair form lines to his credit. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in his last outing has come out and won since. He steps up to 1600m and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should be the first male past the post. 

GRIPEN should have finished closer against winners last time as he was switched at the 450m mark. Back in Maiden Company, he should be involved in the fight to the finish. 

Race 3

LEXICAN POINT showed good signs of a form return in his last start over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He steps up to 1800m and tries the polytrack for the first time. If suited to the surface, he should go close. 

EVENTIDOR is a winner of his last two starts. He ran on powerfully over 2000m on this course last time. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

PAPA C challenged strongly when second over 2000m on this course last time, but found one too good in the form of Gurkha. He is at a competitive rating and must be considered. 

Race 4

AFROPOLITAN set the pace over 2000m last time and stayed on to finish third. He has won once, finished second once and third once from five starts over this C&D. He gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Jacey Botes which will assist his cause. If not in need of the run, he may be hard to peg back. 

MOOLA MAN was in need of his first run for Kumaran Naidoo. He would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. Gavin Lerena retains the ride which is encouraging. From his good draw of four, good improvement is expected. 

MY BOY LOLLIPOP is better than his last start over 2000m on this course. He won a good race over 1600m in his penultimate start at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. If putting his best foot forward, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

 

 

Race 5

PURPLE POWAHOUSE was a tad disappointing over 1100m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He won a good race in his penultimate outing over this C&D. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners. 

CATAVAR finished 1.3 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. He is having his first run for Mike Miller and should give a good account of himself. 

MASK ON tried hard when fourth over 1200m on this course last time. He finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms and he may battle to turn the form around. 

Race 6

THISISWHATITMEANS has won his last three starts, the latest of which was over 1200m on this course. The drop to 1000m should not pose a concern as he has finished second over this distance previously. Despite his big mass of 64kgs, he can bring up another victory. 

TWENTY ONE MAY finished 2 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. 

FUTURE FLO has very good consistent form lines to his credit. He has won three times, finished second once and third twice from seven starts over this distance. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and the combination merit healthy respect.

Race 7

PREEMPTIVE STRIKE lacked extra late when third over 1400m last time. Five of his six career victories have come over this C&D. He is slowly returning to best form and in this field, he may be the horse to beat. 

MASTERBLING is better than his last start over this C&D. His best form has come under Jockey Siphesihle Hlengwa. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

FATE OF FORTUNE won a game race over 1200m on this course last time. He was returning from a 43-week break that day. He has won twice and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. He will strip much fitter and with just 53.5kgs on his back, he cannot be ignored.

Race 8

GIMMETHEGOODLIFE won a good race in his last start over this distance on the turf. He raced from a handy position that day and kept finding all the way to the line. He received a three-pound penalty for the victory. The 3yo gelding is in a good space and has won on this surface previously. Gavin Lerena rides and he can follow up. 

SUPER FAST has finished second in his last three starts, the latest of which was over this C&D. He is likely to race on the speed under 4kgs claiming apprentice Damyan Pillay and may be hard to peg back. 

WINTER WAVES stayed on when fifth over 1400m last time. He has won once and finished third twice from five starts over this C&D. The 7yo gelding will be mowing down the frontrunners
