Race 1

GLOBAL WARRIOR ran a fair race on debut over 1200m on this course. He raced from a handy position and stayed on at the finish. The son of Potala Palace would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1400m. Stable Jockey Tristan Godden is booked to ride, and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the one to beat. 

MOHAVE PRINCE showed good improvement when second over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. The son of Captain Of All is a progressive type and is one of the leading contenders. 

WONDERFUL TONIGHT was running on when fourth over this distance on the polytrack, on debut. The son of Ideal World would have come on from the run and if suited to the turf, he should be involved in the fight to the finish. 

Race 2

CATCH A PENNY has consistent form lines to her name but she has been costly to follow. She was touched off in male company over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. The daughter of Vercingetorix may be suited to this course and she is the horse to beat in this line-up. 

INTRO has fair recent form lines to her name. She has not won in 25 starts but is one of the leading contenders in this field. 

SPLASH OF LOVE is better than her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville as she raced wide around the turn. Her penultimate run when third over 1600m on the polytrack was encouraging. She is a filly with scope and cannot be discounted. 

Race 3

GO GRAYSON GO is the best bet on the programme. He set the pace over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time, but found one too good in the form of Uzwano. He finished second in his only attempt over this distance. His penultimate run when third over 1600m on this course in the Non-Black Type KZN Breeders Mile catches the eye. Serino Moodley steps back into the saddle and he can return to winning ways. 

SOLAR SAIL ran a cracker when third in the Grade 1 TAB SA Derby last time. He returns from a 19-week break which may have done him the world of good. He does prefer further, but is the best-weighted runner and merits healthy respect. 

TWO MILES WEST‘S last three starts have been fair. He does have work to do at the weights but can earn another cheque for his patrons. He is carded to race on 01 August 2025 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored. 

Race 4

CAPRICIOUS MISS showed very good improvement when second in her last start over 1400m on the polytrack. She lost a length leaving the start and stayed on at the finish. She drops back to 1200m and jumps from pole position. If getting away to a clean start, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure. 

DI ROSA stayed on when fourth over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. She finished second in her penultimate run over this distance on the polytrack. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

CHERICHERILADY is having her first run for trainer Paul Gadsby. She carries a handy galloping mass of 55kgs and with luck from the widest draw, she can finish in the placings.

Race 5

FATE OF FORTUNE has good recent form lines to his credit. He raced from a handy position over 1200m last time and tried hard all the way to the line. He gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Damyan Pillay which will assist his cause. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should be competitive. 

LIONS EYE ran a fair race over 1200m on the polytrack last time. He finished 2.05 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. He is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. 

ONE IRISH ROVER moved up well last time but found one too good in the form of stable companion, Lou Lou The Legend. He jumps from a good draw of four and merits healthy respect. 

Race 6

EL DANTE was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1600m on this course. He received a two-pound penalty for that victory. The 8yo gelding takes a drop in class. He is likely to race from off the speed and will be mowing down the frontrunners. 

STAR IN MOTION was an easy winner when shedding his maiden tag over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He does take a rise in class, but has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand. 

CARDINAL CHIEF ran on powerfully when winning his last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. The son of Erik The Red will enjoy the rise to 1400m and he carries a handy galloping mass of 54.5kgs. He is a horse who looks to have ability and can go close.

Race 7

SEA SHANTY hails from the visiting Mark Khan stable. His recent form has been good. The son of Lance challenged strongly over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course last time, but found one too good in the form of Richard The First. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. If all went well with his travels, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure. 

KING OF NUMBERS ran a good race when third over this distance at Turffontein last time. He is likely to race on the speed from pole position and may be hard to peg back. 

WING WALKER followed up his maiden win with a hard-fought victory over 1200m on the polytrack. He should have no issues with the rise to 1400m and can notch up the hat-trick.

Race 8

AVERNIAN GODDESS stayed on nicely when fourth over 1200m on the polytrack last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She has finished second twice and third twice from as many starts over this distance. From her good draw of four, she may be the horse to side with. 

SCHOOL POLICY was touched off in her last start when third over this C&D last time. She drops back in class and if not in need of the run, she should pose a threat to the top choice. 

POURSOMESUGARONME is better than her last start over 1200m on the polytrack. Two of her four career victories have come over this distance. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off her back which will assist her cause
