Winning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday 31st August where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge
Race 1
THINGAMABOB showed good speed over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time but found one too good in the form of Clair De Lune. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She has relocated to KZN and if settled into her new surroundings, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
BELLIGERENT has shown improvement in each of her races to date. She stayed on when second over this C&D last time. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off her back which will assist her cause.
TREASURE ISLAND has decent form lines to her credit. She returns from an 18-week break, the blinkers have been removed and she tries the tongue-tie. The daughter of Master Of My Fate has scope and if not in need of the run, she should go close.
Race 2
HOLY STAR has good form lines to his name. He showed good pace over this C&D last time, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Cowdray Park. The son of Pomodoro meets the right field and he can shed his maiden tag.
THAT’LL B THE DAY’S last two starts have been fair. The manner in which he races suggests that the drop to 1000m should be ideal. The son of Vercingetorix may be the horse to fill the exacta spot.
GRAND FORCE finished 3.3 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. He tries the blinkers which should keep his mind on the task at hand.
Race 3
ESCAPOLOGIST stayed on strongly when fourth over this C&D last time. She won her penultimate outing over the same C&D. The 6yo mare is in a good space and from her good draw of three, she can notch up her seventh-career victory.
CONTINENTALEXPRESS should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung inwards in the final 300m. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. He has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. He is having his peak run today and should be the first male past the post.
THE MIKADO showed signs of needing his last start over 1950m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He will strip much fitter and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, he would not be a shock winner.
Race 4
GREENHOUSE was running on when third over 1400m on this course last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the daughter of Danon Platina. She is back against her own sex and if not too far out of her ground turning for home, she can return to winning ways.
SIGN OF FATE’S last three starts have been good. Both her career victories have come over this distance. The daughter of Master Of My Fate is one of the leading contenders.
SPRING KISS was outrun late when third over this distance on the polytrack last time. Two of her three career victories have come over this distance. She is in a good space and must be considered.
Race 5
FLYING REIGN STORM finished 3.8 lengths behind COPACABANA last time and she is 2.5kgs better off at the weights. The daughter of Flying The Flag should have finished closer to the winner that day as another horse cut throats with her around the turn. It is encouraging that Deryl Daniels retains the ride and if getting her own way in front, she may be hard to peg back.
COPACABANA won a good race in her last start over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. She is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
AMAFORT finished 4.8 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
Race 6
CATAVAR ran on powerfully when winning his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He finished 1.6 lengths behind CAPPELLINO in his penultimate effort. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.
CAPPELLINO showed good speed when winning his last start over this distance on the polytrack. His record on this course is a slight concern, but he is in a good space and cannot be discounted.
BLAST FROMTHE PAST won a game race on debut over 1200m on the polytrack. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He takes on stronger but could be anything and can remain unbeaten
Race 7
KING OF SPIN won a game race over this distance on the polytrack last time. He received a six-pound penalty for that victory. The son of Canford Cliffs is in a good space and can follow up with another victory.
BOURBON WARRIOR finished 0.1 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 2.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around. He has won twice and finished third once from five starts over this C&D.
HITHEMHARDSUNSHINE is better than his last two starts. He has been campaigning against stronger and takes a drop in class. If putting his best foot forward, he would not be a shock winner.
Race 8
EXOCET won a good race on debut over 1000m on this course. He showed good speed, found another kick and won going away. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. Richard Fourie makes the trip to ride her which is a big plus. She takes on stronger, but could be anything and can remain unbeaten.
CARDINAL CHIEF followed up his maiden victory with a good fourth- place finish over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He won his maiden over this C&D. The son of Erik The Red has scope and cannot be ignored.
CIRCUMBENDIBUS returns from a 10-week break and is having his first run in KZN. He has won once, finished second three times and third once from nine starts over this distance. If not in need of the run, he should be there at the finish
