Race 1

MAGICAL PLACE has placed in both his efforts to date. He tired late at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. He is a progressive type and unless one of the first timers have ability, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

DIGBY returns from a 16-week break, during which time he was gelded. He has decent form lines and if not in need of the run, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

CEDAR POINT is an unraced son of Vercingetorix from the Justin Snaith stable with Muzi Yeni in the saddle. He is related to two-time winner Cicadidae. If not in need of the outing, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other unraced entrants.

Race 2

ONE DANCE showed good improvement when second over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. She raced from just off the pace and stayed on at the finish. The daughter of One World is a progressive type and with luck in running, she can go one better.

HAZEL GREEN has shown improvement with each outing. She showed speed over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time, but found one too good in the form of Wander Dune. She is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.

NEBULOUS finished 5.75 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms and she may have to settle for the same result.

Race 3

NIGHTRAIN has produced two good efforts to date. He raced from just off the pace over 1000m last time, but found one too good in the form of African Memoir. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He is coming along the right way and should be the horse to beat.

DELTA PRIDE produced a promising debut effort over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He took time to find his feet but the manner in which he finished off his race was eye-catching. The son of Hawwaam would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be competitive.

USA DANCER ran a fair race on debut over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. The son of The United States would have come on from the run and should make the natural improvement.

Race 4

WANDER DUNE was a super-impressive winner on debut over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. Despite losing a length leaving the start, she showed a good turn of foot and won with a ton in hand. She does take on much stronger but looks to be above average and can remain unbeaten.

MUSIC OF THE NIGHT finished 1.85 lengths behind WILD APPLAUSE last time. She is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

LHASA finished 2.15 lengths behind WILD APPLAUSE in the race referred to above. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and should turn the form around.

Race 5

AFRICAN PRINCE finished 0.05 lengths behind MONT LOISIR last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from his wide draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

MONT LOISIR rallied late when winning his last start over 1200m. He has won once, finished second once and third once from seven starts on this course. He should be involved at the finish.

ESCARPMENT stayed on when fourth over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should have a say.

Race 6

SHE‘S MY WORLD has good consistent form lines to her credit. She has won once and finished second twice from as many starts over this distance. The daughter of One World is the class horse in this race and she can return to winning ways.

BLUFF ON BLUFF did not act in the heavy going over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. He has won twice, finished second four times and third once from ten starts over this C&D. He is drawn widest of all but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

WORLDLY should have finished closer last time as he was steadied at the 300m mark. He jumps from pole position and with luck in running, he can upset.

Race 7

KWITE A KING finished 2.25 lengths behind ARIOVISTUS last time. He is 6kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He finished second in his only attempt over this distance. The son of Vercingetorix is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

GENTLEMAN JOE stayed on when fifth over 1800m last time. He has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. He is back in the Western Cape and is one of the leading contenders.

ARIOVISTUS is a winner of his last two starts. He returns from a well-deserved 10-week break. If not in need of the outing, he can bring up the hat-trick.

Race 8

HAPPY VERSE stayed on at the finish when fifth in the Grade 3 Langerman last time. He returns from a 10-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. The son of Vercingetorix looks to have class and from his good draw of three, he should be the one to beat.

ARBITRATION stayed on when second over 1800m last time. The drop to 1500m should not pose a concern and he may be the horse to fill the exacta spot.

LADY LOOK ALIKE has good consistent form lines to her credit. She was bumped in the latter stages of her last start over 1400m. She finished second in her only attempt over this distance. She carries a handy galloping mass of 54.5kgs and must be included in all bets.

Race 9

WORLD WARRIOR showed good improvement when second over 1200m last time. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish suggests that he will love the rise to 1500m. He is having his peak run today and with Richard Fourie retaining the ride, he can go one better.

YAMAZAKI‘S last two starts have been good. He raced from a handy position over 1600m last time, but found one too good in the form of Better Man. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

KONNICHIWA has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. It must be noted that multiple horses from his last form line have come out and won since. He will strip much fitter and must be considered
