Race 1 

ZAHRA DOMINIA ran a fair race when third over 1600m on this course last time. The daughter of Rabada stayed on at the finish that day. She is a progressive type and may be the horse to beat in this field. 

COMIC ARTIST was in need of her debut effort over 1160m on the Standside course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She would have gained from the experience and should improve over the extra distance on offer. 

ARTIFACT is an unraced daughter of Horizon from the Sean Tarry stable with S’manga Khumalo in the saddle. She does not need to be a stable superstar to win in this field. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.

Race 2

ONCEINABLUEMOON has run two fair races to date. The daughter of One World should love the rise to 1450m and she is a filly with scope. She jumps from pole position and should give the males a run for their money. 

MATROOSBERG has improved in his last two starts over 1600m. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. Should the top choice fluff her lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

MY LUCKY CHARM is an unraced son of Master Of My Fate from the Mike and Mathew de Kock stable with Callan Murray booked to ride. If not in need of the run, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances. 

Race 3

WINSTON‘S WONDER produced a promising debut effort over 1160m on the Standside course. He took time to find his feet, but the manner in which he finished off his race was encouraging. The son of Danon Platina would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he may be the one to beat.

 WALL STREET ran a fair race on debut over 1100m. He returns from a 24-week break and is having his first outing for the Robyn Klaasen stable. If not in need of the run, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice. 

SILVER LONGSWORD stayed on when third over this distance on the Vaal Classic course last time. The son of William Longsword gets the alumites and tongue-tie fitted. Raymond Danielson retains the ride, and he should be competitive. 

Race 4

INSPIRATION took her place in the Grade 3 SplashOut Cape Of Good Hope Nursery last time. Her debut effort over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth was encouraging. She returns from a 27-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. She may have some class about her and with S’manga Khumalo in the saddle, she can win a race of this nature. 

FIRE IN HER SOUL showed good improvement when second over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. She is a progressive type and should pose a threat. 

POWER OF PEARLS has produced two good runs against male company. She is coming along the right way and against her own sex, she should be competitive

 

 

Race 5

VIBE SA was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1200m at the Vaal. He returns from a well-deserved 10-week break which may have done him the world of good. He gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Girish Samo-Burthia which should assist his cause. The son of Just As Well can follow up with another victory. 

PALACE REVOLT challenged strongly over 1200m last time, but found one too good in the form of Hemisphere. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect. 

SUPER AWESOME finished 2.6 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 6

FROZEN FANTASY showed some signs of a form return over this C&D last time. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. She is the joint highest rated horse and from pole position, she can return to winning ways. 

THAT‘S MY BABY is a winner of her last two starts in KZN. She has won twice and finished third once from as many starts over this distance. She should throw out a big challenge to the top choice and can bring up the hat-trick. 

BLIZZARD SNOW has good recent form lines to her name. She was running on when second over 1160m on the Standside course last time. The daughter of Erupt won her only attempt over this C&D. She will be mowing down the frontrunners at the finish. 

Race 7

QUANTUM THEORY was an easy winner of his last start over 1000m on the Standside course. He raced from just off the pace, quickened up well and won with a ton in hand. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He is having his first run for the Sean Tarry stable. If settled into his new surroundings, he can follow up with another victory. 

SLINKY MAPIMPI was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1160m on the Standside course. He has won once and finished second once from three starts on this course. He should be the one to fill the exacta spot. 

NIGHT BOMBER finished 1 length behindCHYAVANA last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. He is having his first outing for the Candice Dawson stable.

Race 8

SHINTO SHRINE had excuses in his comeback run over 1400m on the Standside course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from as many starts on this course. He will strip much fitter and can return to winning ways. 

CLEVER TREVOR made the expected natural improvement when winning his maiden over 1160m on the Standside course. The son of Soqrat is a progressive type and should love the rise to 1450m. He takes on stronger, but has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand. 

MIGHTY EAGLE won a good race over 1600m on the Vaal Classic course last time. He makes his handicap debut and should run another honest race
