MAGIC SURPRISE showed good improvement when third over this distance on the polytrack last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. If confirming his recent improvement, he should be involved at the finish. 

Race 2

VENCEDOR moved up like a winner over this distance last time before getting caught in the shadow of the post. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off his back and he jumps from pole position. He should get a good run in transit and may find himself in the winner’s enclosure. 

PIED PIPER should have finished a lot closer to the winner last time as he hung outwards in the straight. The son of Potala Palace is a progressive type and if not too green on this track, he should pose a threat. 

DIRECTOR has run three fair races to date. The son of Master Of My Fate should love the rise to 1600m. S’manga Khumalo is booked to ride and he may be able to get the best out of him where it matters most.

Race 3

CALL ME WILD has shown good improvement in his last two starts. He may have cost himself winning last time as he hung outwards and shifted away from the crop in the closing stages. The son of Rabada should have no issues with the rise to 1900m and he can go one better. 

FINE WINE is better than her last start when she took no interest. Her form prior to that outing was decent. Callan Murray does duty and if putting her best foot forward, she should go close. 

INVICTUS JET stayed on when second over 1750m last time. The cheekpieces seem to have done the trick on the daughter of Master Of My Fate. She carries a light mass of 49.5kgs and if confirming her recent improvement, she should run a big race.

Race 4

MUZZLE FLASH stayed on at the finish when fourth over 1600m on the polytrack last time. The son of Act Of War is a progressive type and should love the rise to 1900m. He carries a handy galloping mass of 53.5kgs and in this type of field, he can shed his maiden tag. 

CALL ME HARRIET‘S last four starts have been decent. She raced wide around the turn last time and was carried off a straight line in the closing stages. With a bit of luck in running, she should be involved at the finish. 

CARNIVAL PARK finished 0.05 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 2kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around. However, the son of Soqrat should be at home over 1900m and cannot be discounted.

Race 5

FUTURE VARIETY was given a peach of a ride when winning the Listed HKIR In December Umngeni Handicap last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he should not have any issues with the rise to 1400m. He jumps from pole position and can bring up the hat-trick. 

IMILENZEYOKUDUDUMA is better than his last start in the Listed Michel Nairac Appreciation Stakes Darley Arabian. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He has won twice and finished second twice from seven starts over this distance. There should be good improvement to come from him. 

THE SHEPHERD produced a good comeback run when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He will strip much fitter and with 54kgs on his back, he can show

Race 6

ROSH KEDESH won a good race over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He took the lead at the 200m mark that day and kept finding to hold all challengers at bay. The daughter of Captain Of All steps back up to 1200m and with a bit of luck in running, she can return to winning ways. 

RUGGER LOVER ran a fair race over 1500m last time. She won a good race over this distance on the polytrack in her penultimate outing. Callan Murray retains the ride, and she should pose a massive threat. 

AVERNIAN GODDESS finished 1.8 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. 

Race 8

UBUKHWEBEZANA produced an encouraging comeback run over 1400m on this course. She was squeezed leaving the start and stayed on nicely at the finish. She has won twice from five starts over this C&D. The daughter of Vercingetorix will strip much fitter. She is drawn widest of all in barrier nine, but Sean Veale knows her well and he should give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle. 

PRINCESS GOLDIE was running on when third over this distance on the polytrack last time. It must be noted that Papillon Blu has come out and won again since. She will be mowing down the frontrunners at the finish. 

GOLDEN MOMENT returns from a 14-week break and is having her first run for the Yogas Govender stable. She jumps from a good draw of four and is capable of fighting out the finish in this contest.

Race 9

POSITION OF POWER may be the horse to close off the meeting. He produced a good second-place finish over 1200m after winning on debut over this C&D. It must be noted that Gimmethegoodlife has come out and won again since. The son of Vercingetorix returns from a well-deserved 12-week break. He is a horse with ability and from his good draw of two, he should be the horse to beat. 

JET LEGACY won a good race over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He has won once and finished second twice from as many starts over this C&D. 4kgs claiming Apprentice Damyan Pillay retains the ride, and he is a solid back up for the Alyson Wright stable. 

KINSHIN SHA raced wide around the turn last time and did not go on with the effort. He is having his second run for the Louis Goosen stable and would not be a shock winner
