RACE 1

PALANCAR is better than his last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. It must be noted that Late December and the second placed finisher have come out and won since. The son of The United States is having his first run for the Cliffie Miller stable. He jumps from a good draw of three and if taking to the surface, he may be the one to beat in this field. 

FIZZLY BUBBLY ran on well when second over 1600m on this course last time. It must be noted that Golden Grey has come out and won again since. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

ICED MARMALADE finished third on debut behind subsequent Grade 1 winner Golden Palm. She returns from a 23-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. There should be good improvement to come from the daughter of Danon Platina.

RACE 2

LAUGH TILL I CRY has placed in her last two starts, the latest of which was over 1400m on the turf. It must be noted that Umzolozolo has come out and won again since. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight meets the right field and she can shed her maiden tag. 

OH MANDY was touched off in her last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The removal of the headgear seems to have done the trick, and she is one of the leading contenders. 

BIRD ON A WING was a tad disappointing in her last start over 1400m on the turf. Her penultimate run when fourth over 1400m on this course was encouraging. She jumps from pole position and may be hard to peg back

RACE 3

GLOBAL SCENE is still a maiden after 17 starts, but her recent form has been decent. She should have finished closer to the winner last time as she hung inwards in the final 350m. She is back against her own sex and if keeping on a straight line, she may be the one to beat in this line-up. 

WELSH STARLET ran a decent race when third over 1600m on this course last time. She was steadied leaving the start and ran on at the finish. S’manga Khumalo is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most. 

PRESERVE FOREVER finished 0.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 2.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. 

RACE 4

WALKONTHEWILDSIDE has finished second in her last three starts. She finished 2 lengths behind THREE CHEERS last time. She is 6.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has cracked a good draw of three and if not too far out of her ground turning for home, she can notch up her fourth-career victory. 

THREE CHEERS is a winner of her last two starts over this C&D. She ran on well last time and won easier than the official margin suggests. The daughter of Soqrat is in a good space and merits healthy respect. 

LADY ZULTANITE is better than her last start suggests as she raced wide around the turn and was reported to be coughing. She has won twice, finished second twice and third once from seven starts over this C&D. With luck in running, she can cause the upset.

 

 

RACE 5

HAARLEM is better than his last start over 1600m as he clipped heels leaving the start. He finished 0.2 lengths behind ROLL OF THE DICE in his penultimate run. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. If getting away to a clean start, he can return to winning ways. 

ROLL OF THE DICE found himself in front and held on where it matters most over this C&D last time. He is a game horse and if all goes his way once again, he can follow up with another victory. 

SLAINTE MHATH is better than his last start as he was reported to be not striding out. Luyolo Mxothwa steps back into the saddle and on previous form, he should be involved in the fight to the finish. 

Race 6

MARSHMALLOW won a good race over this C&D last time. She set the pace and found more where it matters most to hold all challengers at bay. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She is a versatile mare and can follow up with another victory. 

STRANGE MAGIC finished 1.75 lengths behind the top selection last time. She is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. 

STRATA is better than her last start as she was reported to be coughing. She drops back in class and on best form shown, she should be involved in the fight to the finish. 

RACE 7

TINTAMARRE fought hard for his last victory over 1000m on this course. He showed good pace and fought hard all the way to the line. That was his first outing for the Gavin Smith stable. The son of Fire Away should have no issues with the step up to 1400m and he may be the horse to side with. 

FINAL TRY ran a fair race over 1600m on the turf last time. His penultimate run when second over this distance on the turf was encouraging. He tries the polytrack and if taking to the surface, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice. 

HOLOCENE is better than his last start on the turf. He has won once and finished second once from three starts over this C&D. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he can finish in the money.

RACE 8

BENEATH THE MOON should have finished closer in her last two starts as she has hung inwards in the straight. The manner in which she finished off both those races suggests that she will enjoy the rise to 1400m at this stage of her career. The daughter of The United States jumps from a good draw of three and if keeping on a straight line, she can return to winning ways. 

LADY LUCK held on where it matters most to win her last start over 1600m on this course. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
