NORTH POINT finished 0.8 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is having his first run for the Brett and James Crawford yard. The son of William Longsword is one of the leading contenders.

FOLLOW YOUR HEART understandably raced green on debut and the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The son of Master Of My Fate would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be competitive.

Race 2

BLACK CHEETAH is unbeaten from two starts. He won a good race in the Non-Black Type Charles Dickens Stakes last time. The son of Querari returns from a well-deserved 10-week break which would have done him the world of good. He should have no issues with the rise to 1200m and can keep his unbeaten record intact.

DREAMWORLD showed good speed when winning on debut over this C&D. The son of One World found betting support that day which suggests that he was showing good work at home. He looks to have class about him and should be competitive.

CLAIR DE LUNE has finished second in all three efforts to date. She showed good speed over 1100m last time before getting outrun late by Wild Wild Green. She should have no issues with the rise to 1200m and should give the males a run for their money.

Race 3

RATTLESNAKE crossed the finish line first last time, but was demoted as he shifted onto Bluff On Bluff at the 50m mark. The son of Buffalo Bill Cody is in a good space and if Aldo Domeyer is able to keep him on a straight line, he should fight out the finish.

TOUGH TERRAIN finished behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

NIGHT TIGER tired late when fourth over 1100m on this course last time. He has won twice and finished second once from five starts over this C&D. He runs well for Gareth Wright and must be included in all bets.

Race 4

MISS MARGUERITE finished 2.4 lengths behind FIRST MASTERPIECE last time. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has won twice and finished third once from five starts over this C&D. Gavin Lerena steps back into the saddle and she can return to winning ways.

FIRST MASTERPIECE is a winner of her last two starts, the latest of which was over 1100m on this course. She received a five-pound penalty for her latest victory. The daughter of Oratorio will be mowing down the frontrunners and she can bring up the hat-trick.

BLUE HOLLY finished 1.65 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

Race 5

SEEKING THE STARS was not disgraced when fourth in the Grade 2 Khaya Stables Diadem Stakes last time. He should have finished closer as he was steadied in the latter stages. He is the best-weighted runner in this contest and can notch up his ninth-career victory.

LION RAMPART is the stable companion of the top choice. He is better than his last start in the Non-Black Type Franschhoek Motor Museum Winchester Sprint Cup. He returns from a 10-week break, during which time he was gelded. On his previous form, he will go close to winning.

FUTURE VARIETY finished 4.35 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

 

 

Race 6

ALADDIN’S LAMP finished 1.8 lengths behind MY BESTIE last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He tries the 2200m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can notch up his third-career victory.

MY BESTIE won his last start over 1800m at a nice price. He received a three-pound penalty for that victory. He is in a good space and if suited to 2200m, he can follow up with another victory.

AHEAD OF THE FACTS ran on from last when winning his maiden over 2000m on this course. He should have no issues with the rise to 2200m. He takes on stronger, but has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.

Race 7

OTTO LUYKEN finished 1.3 lengths behind TRIPLE TIME last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is having his second run for the Brett and James Crawford stable. He is a horse with ability and if putting his best foot forward, he should be the one to beat.

TRIPLE TIME ran a good race when third over 2800m last time. The son of Twice Over should be ideally suited to 2400m and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

HOLDING THUMBS set the pace over 2000m last time and found extra in the closing stages. The son of Vercingetorix is clearly in a good space and may be hard to peg back at the finish.

Race 8

ONE STRIPE returns from a well-deserved 10-week break after two incredible Grade 1 victories. He showed a good turn of foot to win the Hollywoodbets Cape Guineas and followed that up with an equally impressive victory in the L’Ormarins King’s Plate. The son of One World is the highest rated 3yo in South Africa and should be too good for this field.

GREAT PLAINS is better than his last start in the Grade 1 L’Ormarins King’s Plate. He has won four times from five starts over this distance. On best form shown, he may be the one to fill the exacta spot. 

ALL OUT FOR SIX is the stable companion of the top choice. He has won twice and finished third once from five starts over this C&D. He is likely to get his own way in front from his awkward draw of eight and may be hard to peg back.

Race 9

MEU CAPITANO ran a fair race when third in the Listed City Of Cape Town Jet Master Stakes last time. He won his penultimate start over this C&D with ease. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of nine, he should notch up his sixth-career victory.

BILLY BOWLEGS finished 1.25 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. He is having his peak run today and Andrew Fortune may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

CELTIC RUMOURS is better than her recent form suggests. She has won once, finished second once and third once from six starts over this distance. On best form shown, she would not be a shock winner.

GREEN GARNET won a game race in his last start over this C&D. He found himself in front and kept finding to hold all challengers at bay. He has won twice and finished second once from four starts over this C&D. He meets a similar line-up this afternoon and can follow up with another victory.

BOOGIEFIED was caught in the shadow of the post over 1600m last time. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He is likely to race on the speed from his awkward draw of nine and may be hard to peg back
