COWDRAY PARK is an unraced son of Legislate from the Michael Roberts stable with Rachel Venniker in the saddle. He does not need to be a stable superstar to win in this field. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.

Race 2

INDIGENOUS stayed on when fourth over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. The son of Danon Platina will love the rise to 1400m. He is drawn widest of all, but gets the services of Andrew Fortune who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

AVERSATOR finished 2.5 lengths behind the top choice on debut. The son of Rafeef would have come on from the run and should make the natural improvement.

ALANNAH ran a fair debut race over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. The daughter of Ideal World would have come on from the run and should enjoy the extra distance on offer. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and she should make the natural progression.

Race 3

PROMISE OF FIRE was doing her best work late when fourth over this C&D last time. She was reported to be coughing that day. The daughter of Fire Away has cracked a handy draw of five and may be the one to side with in this field.

K M V RETROFIT is better than her last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that the horse that finished third day has come out and won since. She is the stable elect with S’manga Khumalo in the saddle and she is one of the leading contenders.

TERMINAL VELOCITY is the stable companion of the second choice. Her last two starts over 1600m were good. If not in need of the run, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 4

APACHE AG produced a decent debut effort over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He was green in running but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He will love the rise in distance and should make the natural improvement.

HARUN AL RASHID was his own worst enemy last time as he over raced and hung in the final 350m. With a bit of luck in running, he should fight out the finish.

LIMELIGHT LEGEND found one too good in the form of Dancing On A Cloud last time. He will love the rise to 1800m and from pole position, he should be competitive.

Race 5

MAGICAL VIEW was not disgraced when fifth in the Grade 3 Umzimkhulu Stakes last time. She received a bump leaving the start and stayed on to finish fifth. She has won once, finished second three times and third once from seven starts on this course. The daughter of Captain Of All runs well for Tristan Godden and she can notch up her third-career victory.

RED ROSES TOO was running on when third over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. She jumps from a good draw of two and merits healthy respect.

MALCOLM’S DREAM ran a fair race over this distance last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. Five of her six career victories have come over this distance and she cannot be ignored.

 

 

Race 6

PORFIRIO is better than his last start over 1800m as he over raced in the early stages and was reported to be not striding out. He was an easy winner of his penultimate start over 1400m on the polytrack. The 6yo gelding has won on this course previously and from pole position, he can go close.

GORGEOUS DUDE won a game race in his last start over 1400m on this course. He finished second in his penultimate outing over this C&D. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

MAC HARDY finished 0.5 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

Race 7

GET IMPRESSED is better than his last two starts in the Western Cape. He has won twice and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. Andrew Fortune is booked to ride from pole position and he should find a form return.

MADISON VALLEY was in need of his comeback run over this C&D. He would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off his back and he cannot be ignored.

UNDERWORLD is the stable companion of the top choice. He won a good race over 1900m on the Fairview polytrack last time. Muzi Yeni is booked to ride and he should have a say.

Race 8

OKAVANGO was super-impressive when winning his last start over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. He was a long way behind the leader turning for home that day and ran on powerfully to get the better of Touchdown. The son of Master Of My Fate will love the rise to 1800m and if suited to the right-hand turn, he should be the one to beat.

EL REY VIENE set the pace over 2000m last time and stayed on to finish third. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He has won once and finished third twice from as many starts over this C&D. He is having his peak run and should fight out the finish.

BLACKBERRY BREEZE ran a fair race over 2000m last time. He finished 2.2 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate run. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 9

HODGEPODGE got up late when winning her last start over 2000m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since.
