OLIVE OYL finished 1.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

BUDDLEJA was in need of her debut effort over 1000m on this course. The daughter of Master Of My Fate would have gained from the experience and should make the natural progression. She may be the one to spoil the Greeff party.

RACE 2

MHLABENI has shown good signs of a form return in his last two starts. He set the pace over 1600m last time but found one too good in the form of Bingwa. He won his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Elusive Fort is likely to get his own way in front from barrier two and he may be hard to peg back.

GLOBAL ALLY finished 0.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

ZATARA MAGIC has good recent form lines to his credit. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. Craig Zackey knows him well and the combination merit healthy respect.

RACE 3

LADY SILVANO won a good race over 1600m on the polytrack last time. She set the pace and kept finding all the way to the line. The daughter of Bold Silvano has won over this distance previously. She is the stable elect with Richard Fourie in the saddle and can follow up.

ESSENTIAL ran a good race when fourth over 1400m last time. She finished 5.5 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

GIDEON’S DAUGHTER is better than her last start over 2700m on this course. It must be noted that Bournemouth has come out and won again since. If putting her best foot forward, she would not be a shock winner.

RACE 4

GLOBAL REEF was running on when second over 2400m on this course last time. He returns from a 14-week break which may have done him the world of good. If not in need of this outing, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

HEEMSTEDE is having his first run for the Alan Greeff stable. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in his last outing has come out and won since. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and there should be good improvement to come.

PROLIFIC STAR returns from a short eight-week break, during which time he changed stables. The son of Potala Palace tries further and if settled into his new surroundings, he may have more to come.

RACE 5

AMERICAN MATADOR stayed on when second over this distance on the polytrack. He has finished second in both his efforts on this course. The son of The United States meets the right field and can shed his maiden tag.

GOLDEN GREY should have finished closer to the winner last time. He is having his first run for the Alan Greeff stable. The son of Danon Platina jumps from a good draw of two and is one of the leading contenders.

CLIFFIE CLAVIN finished 1.25 lengths behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

 

 

Race 6

IGUGULETHU was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He received a six-pound penalty. The son of Erupt is in a good space and he can follow up with another victory.

FINAL TRY is better than his post maiden effort over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course. He returns from a 35- week break, during which time he changed stables. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and if fit, he should have improvement to come.

EL ROMIACHI is better than his last start over 1600m on this course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He jumps from a good draw of four and with Eldin Webber back in the saddle, he should be competitive.

RACE 7

GOLDEN PEACE is better than his last start over 1750m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He won his only attempt over this distance. The son of Gold Standard is having his first run for Alan Greeff. He is a horse with ability and with luck in running, he may be the one to beat.

BRENDEN JAMES won a good race over 1600m on this course last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has won twice and finished second twice from seven starts over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

CHEEKY LADDIE finished 2.25 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

RACE 8

DIRECT HIT followed up her impressive debut win with an equally impressive victory in the Grade 3 SplashOut Cape Of Good Hope Nursery, at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Canford Cliffs is the class horse in this contest and she should keep her unbeaten record intact.

FIERY COUNTESS found one too good in the form of Anotherdanceforme in the Listed East Cape Fillies Nursery. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Fire Away may be the horse to fill the exacta spot.

INSTAWORTHY finished 0.75 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

RACE 9

THREE ROCKS is better than her last run in the Listed Lady’s Pendant as she was reported to be not striding out. She finished 1.75 lengths behind GOCEKWITHLOVE in her penultimate run. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of Heavenly Blue can return to winning ways.

GIMME’S LASSIE ran a good race when third over 1400m last time. She should have finished closer as she hung outwards in the final 200m. The removal of the blinkers may do the trick.

GOCEKWITHLOVE is a winner of her last two starts, the latest of which was over this distance on the polytrack. She is in a good space and can bring up the hat-trick
