SISTER GOLDEN HAIR followed up her maiden win with a good second-place finish over 1400m at Turffontein. Gavin Lerena is likely to use her early gate speed to overcome the widest draw and she may be hard to peg back.

LITTLEMISSSPLENDID ran a fair race over 1160m at Turffontein last time. The daughter of Act Of War tries further and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should be competitive.

Race 2

RED AMBER got up where it matters most to win over 1200m last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Erik The Red will love the rise to 1500m. She is a progressive type and should give the males a run for their money.

TENJIKU won a game race over 1400m at Turffontein last time. He returns from a 14-week break which would have done him the world of good. If not in need of the run, he can follow up with another victory.

MIGHTY EAGLE was an easy winner of his last start over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course. The son of Danon Platina is in a good space and he merits healthy respect.

Race 3

NKWENKWEZI has decent recent form lines to her credit. She tired late with the blinkers fitted over 1600m last time. The headgear has been removed and she should love the rise to 1800m. Jason Gates steps back into the saddle and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

ARTIC SILVER won her last start, but was disqualified as the lead bag fell off in the closing stages. She finished 0.05 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

LUNAR RAINBOW was well-beaten over 2000m last time. She has finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this distance. The daughter of Rabada can earn another cheque for her patrons.

Race 4

PIONEER SQUARE is the best bet on the programme. He lost a length leaving the start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time, but finished off his race strongly. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The son of Querari tries further and from his good draw of three, he should take a power of beating.

PHIL THE FLUTER ran a good race when third in his first effort for Trainer Robyn Klaasen. He is carded to race on 15 May 2025 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

HEROIC ACT’S last two starts have been good. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. The son of Captain Of All is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

NUCLEAR FORCE’S last three starts have been fair. He may not have seen out the 2850m in his last outing. The son of Global View has dropped in the ratings and gets the services of Gavin Lerena. In this type of field, he may be the one to side with.

SILVER FLARE stayed on when fourth over 2000m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. The blinkers seem to have done the trick. She is carded to race on 15 May 2025 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.

THE MERCIFUL finished 0.75 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 2kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

SAIL THE SKY stayed on when third over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Lancaster Bomber is in a good space and can notch up his fifth-career victory. He is carded to race on 15 May 2025 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

UNSOLVED RIDDLE finished 1.7 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

AFTER HOURS finished 2.2 lengths behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today. He is also carded to race on 15 May 2025 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

Race 7

PRETTY ANALIA stayed on when fourth over this distance at Turffontein last time. She has won twice and finished second three times from 11 starts over this distance. The daughter of Captain Of All is back against her own sex. Louis Nhlapo knows her well and she may be the one to beat.

TRIED AND TRUE ran a good race when third over 1400m at Turffontein last time. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. She drops back in class and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

HEMISPHERE followed up his maiden victory with a good fourth-place finish over 1100m at Turffontein. The son of Vercingetorix is having his peak run today. He is drawn on the outside of the course and may be the one to side with.

IT’S PERSONAL was running on when third over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. He won his maiden over this C&D. The son of What A Winter will be mowing down the frontrunners.

PHANTOM EXPRESS’ last three starts have been good. She has won once and finished second once from four starts over this C&D. It would be no surprise to see her in the winner’s enclosure.

Race 10

PHALA MILLIONS won a good race in his last start over 1160m at Turffontein. He raced from a prominent position and drew off late.
