Race 1

BUGLE BOY made the expected natural improvement when second over this C&D last time. He raced from just off the pace, moved up before getting caught late. The son of Elusive Fort is a progressive type and with Grant van Niekerk in the saddle, he can go one better.

KANAAL SKATER produced an eye-catching debut effort over this C&D. He took time to find his feet but finished off his race strongly. The son of One World would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be competitive.

FOLLOW YOUR HEART has produced two good runs to date. He is having his first outing as a gelding. The son of Master Of My Fate has scope and he should be involved at the finish.

Race 2

PRECOCIOUS produced a promising debut effort over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. She raced from just off the pace after a slow start and stayed on strongly. She returns from an 11-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. Aldo Domeyer is booked to ride and she can go one better.

ONCIDIUM is an unraced daughter of Danon Platina from the Justin Snaith stable with Richard Fourie in the saddle. If not in need of the run, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.

TAKE IT AS RED has finished fourth in all four runs to date. She gets the blinkers fitted which should keep her mind on the task at hand. With luck in running, she should be involved at the finish.

Race 3

THREE TIGERS has produced two good runs to date. He was doing his best work late after a slow start in both those efforts. The son of One World is a progressive type and with Gavin Lerena in the saddle, he should be the one to beat.

IKO IKO ran on well when second over this C&D last time. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. With a bit of luck in running, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

RED WAVE was in need of his debut effort over 1200m. He drops to 1000m which may suit him well. The son of Erik The Red should have improvement to come.

Race 4

NEW WORLD raced from a handy position over this distance last time, tried hard but found one too good in the form of Randolph Hearst. He gets the blinkers fitted which should keep his mind on the task at hand. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

YAMAZAKI showed good improvement when fourth over this distance last time. He would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. The son of Danon Platina is a progressive type and he is one of the leading contenders.

DRICUS was outrun late over this distance last time. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. If keeping on a straight line, he should be competitive.

Race 5

MISS WILLIAM has produced three good runs to date. She set the pace over this distance last time, but found one too good in the form of Hunga Tonga. She is likely to get her own way in front once again and should be hard to peg back.

SWEET CONIFER is the stable companion of the top choice. She was reported to have choked up in her last outing. The daughter of Canford Cliffs is having her peak run today and she can go close.

CAPE CAPTAIN is better than her last start over 1200m. She steps up to 1400m and jumps from pole position. The blinkers have been quickly removed and on previous form, she should feature.

 

 

Race 6

SESAME has shown improvement in each of her outings to date. She stayed on when third over 1400m last time. The daughter of Legislate is a progressive type and will love the rise to 1800m. She will strip much fitter and from pole position, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

BEIRA finished 0.9 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

BENEATH THE CLOUDS was caught late when second over 1700m last time. Gavin Lerena is likely to use her early gate speed to overcome her wide draw and she may be hard to peg back.

Race 7

LAVENDER BAY fought hard for her last victory over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. She returns from a well-deserved 11-week break. The daughter of Twice Over meets a similar line-up this afternoon and from pole position, she may be hard to peg back.

PENTOLINA was running on when second over 1600m last time. She finished 2.8 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

TAP SHOES ran a fair race in the Listed East Cape Oaks last time. She finished 3.4 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 1kg better off at the weights. The daughter of Master Of My Fate won her maiden on this course and she cannot be ignored.

Race 8

BABELICIOUS has good consistent form lines to her credit. She raced from just off the pace over 1200m last time and stayed on to finish third. The blinkers were not fitted that day which may have cost her the victory. Her last win came under Aldo Domeyer and she is the horse to beat.

BACK AT THE GEORGE finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

WINTER RAINFALL finished 2.25 lengths behind the top selection in the race referred to above. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 9

TRUE HORIZON is better than her last start over this C&D. Her two efforts prior to that outing were good. She finished 0.05 lengths behind ELECTRIC FEELS, three runs ago. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. On best form shown, she can notch up her second-career victory.

ELECTRIC FEELS stayed on when sixth over 1000m last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Two of her four career victories have come over this C&D and she can go close.

CHAMPAGNE MAC finished second over 1100m on this course last time. He was reported to be coughing that day. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and he may be hard to peg back.

Race 10

FROM A DISTANCE finished 1.5 lengths behind MARITZBURG MEMORY last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Her only victory came under Aldo Domeyer and she will be mowing down the frontrunners.

MARITZBURG MEMORY won a good race over this C&D last time. She received a four-pound penalty for that victory. She is in a good space and can follow up.

OCTOBER FEST finished 1.9 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish
