HOLY STAR ran a good race when fourth over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on debut. He jumped awkwardly leaving the start, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The son of Pomodoro would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1200m. With the natural improvement that is expected and from his good draw of two, he may be the one to beat.

INDIGENOUS is better than his last start as the jockey reported something to be amiss in running. His first three career efforts were decent. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

ARISTOCRATIC is an unraced son of Danon Platina from the Dean Kannemeyer stable with Craig Zackey in the saddle. He is related to multiple winners including Simple Simple and Calantha. If not in need of this outing, he should give a good account of himself. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.

Race 2

OPERA FAN finished third in her last start over 1500m on the Vaal Classic course. She is back in Maiden Company and jumps from pole position. If all went well with her travels, she can shed her maiden tag.

ALAKAZAM ran a decent race on debut over 1000m on the turf. She stayed on at the finish that day and will enjoy the extra distance on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

SPLASH OF LOVE showed some improvement when fourth over this distance on the turf last time. She lost a length leaving the start and was running on at the finish. The daughter of Master Of My Fate is a progressive type and may have more to come.

Race 3

PINETTI moved up well over this distance on the turf last time, before getting outrun late by Position Of Power. The son of Futura is a progressive type and gets the services of Gavin Lerena. If taking to the polytrack, he should go one better.

MISS KANSAS should have finished much closer to the winner last time. Her debut effort when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville was eye- catching. The daughter of One World has scope and if suited to the surface, she would not be a shock winner.

GRAND FORCE is better than his last start as he was reported to be not striding out. He finished second in his penultimate run over this distance. If finding the form of that race, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 4

CHERRY OH BABY moved up like a winner last time before getting caught late by Long Street. She has drifted in the betting market in her last four starts. She is drawn widest of all but gets the services of Callan Murray who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

TAKEYOURBESTSHOT finished 3.6 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today which is not enough for the tables to be turned. He may have to settle for the same result.

O SPACE O was his own worst enemy over this distance on the turf last time as he over raced in the early stages. He tries the polytrack for the first time and if suited, he can finish in he placings.

Race 5

BALLY MAGIC showed good signs of a form return when second over 1600m on this course last time. He raced from a handy position and found one too good in the form of Eventidor who has come out and won again since. If confirming his recent improvement, he may be the one to beat.

FUTURE SAINT is better than his last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. If seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

RICHARDTHEFEARLESS ran a fair race over this C&D last time. He gets the blinkers fitted which should keep his mind on the task at hand. The son of William Longsword can finish in the money.

 

 

Race 6

ONE PATH may not have seen out the 1800m on this course last time. She drops back in distance which she should enjoy. The daughter of One World is having her peak run today and she should be cherry- ripe. Raymond Danielson is booked to ride and she can go close.

SKYTRIX was unlucky not to have won her last start over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She meets a similar line-up and if keeping on a straight line, she should go close.

AMONG THE CLOUDS has finished fourth in her two efforts in KZN. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber has dropped in the ratings and she can earn another cheque.

Race 7

MISS PAGET finished 3.5 lengths behind SKY VELOCITY last time. She is 4.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has won twice, finished second once and third three times from nine starts over this C&D. She has cracked a good draw of three and can return to winning ways.

MY TRUE LOVE finished 2.5 lengths behind SKY VELOCTIY in the race referred to above. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

SKY VELOCITY was an easy winner of her last start over this C&D. She raced from a handy position, quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. Philasande Mxoli is likely to use her early gate speed to overcome the widest draw and she may be hard to peg back.

Race 8

KALAHARI ROLLER finished 0.55 lengths behind JET LEGACY last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. 4kgs claiming apprentice Mxolisi Mbuto steps back into the saddle and with luck in running, he can notch up his fourth-career victory.

FUTURE FLO has very good consistent form lines to his credit. He has won three times, finished second once and third once from six starts over this distance. The son of Futura merits healthy respect.

CONNERY won a good race over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He is unbeaten from two starts on this course and will be looking to keep that record intact.

Race 9

MASTERBLING tried hard when second over 1200m on this course last time. The son of Master Of My Fate is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. He runs well for Siphesihle Hlengwa and can go one better.

WARRIOR OF ROYALTY was caught late when second over this distance last time. He meets a similar line- up this afternoon and with a bit of luck from the widest draw, he can go close.

B FIFTYTWO finished 1.3 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result
