Race 1

ELEGANTRIX was an impressive winner on debut over 1160m on this course. Despite receiving a bump leaving the start, she quickened up well and won with a ton in hand. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Vercingetorix looks to have ability and she can remain unbeaten.

GLASTONBURY raced from just off the pace over this C&D last time, moved up before getting outrun late by Easy Tiger. The daughter of Rafeef has ability and she is one of the leading contenders.

BRIGHT AND BRAZEN was in need of her debut effort over this C&D. It must be noted that Easy Tiger has come out and won again since. The daughter of Erupt would have gained from the experience and she should make the natural improvement.

Race 2

READ ALL ABOUT IT quickened up well when winning on debut over this C&D. The son of Hawwaam would have gained from the experience and he looks to have class about him. Unless one of the first timers have class about them, he should take a power of beating.

BINGO finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today which is enough for the tables to be turned. However, READ ALL ABOUT IT won easier than the official margin suggests and may still have the upper hand.

CONSTELLATION is an unraced son of What A Winter from the Mike and Mathew de Kock stable. If not too green in running, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other unraced entrants.

Race 3

GIMMEANOTHERCHANCE is better than his last two starts. He returns from a 13-week break which would have done him the world of good. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from six starts over this distance. On best form shown, he should be too good for this field.

THE AFRICA HOUSE stayed on when second over this C&D last time. It must be noted that Truth has come out and won again since. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

CALANTHA finished 0.7 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. The daughter of Querari will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Race 4

CYMRIC is better than his last start over 1400m on this course. It must be noted that Truth has come out and won again since. His form prior to that outing was consistent. He is drawn on the outside of the course which is a big plus. Aldo Domeyer is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

SILVER TUDOR has fair recent form lines to his name. He finished 2.7 lengths behind the top selection in his penultimate run. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

NIGHT BOMBER won a good race in his last start over 1200m on the Vaal Classic course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He is in a good space and with in-form Jockey Ryan Munger retaining the ride, he can follow up with another victory.

Race 5

MINOGUE produced a strong finish when second over 1160m on this course last time. She is having her second run for Trainer Candice Dawson and will strip a much fitter horse. She runs well for Jockey Richard Fourie. The daughter of Vercingetorix will love the rise to 1600m and from her good draw of three, she can go one better.

FRANCINE is better than her last start as she was reported to be not striding out. It is encouraging that Gavin Lerena retains the ride and with a bit of luck from her wide draw of ten, she should be the one to fill the exacta spot.

LET’S GO NOW stayed on when fourth over this C&D last time. The tongue-tie seems to have made the difference on the daughter of Gimmethegreenlight. Craig Zackey is booked to ride and if jumping on terms, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 6

SPUMANTE DOLCE was given a well-timed ride by Raymond Danielson when winning the Grade 2 Wilgerbosdrift Gauteng Fillies Guineas last time. The well-bred daughter of Vercingetorix should have no issues with the rise to 1800m. She has plenty of class about her and can remain unbeaten.

VJ’S ANGEL was doing her best work late when 0.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is drawn awkwardly in barrier eight and is likely to be settled near the rear of the field once again. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight merits healthy respect.

FIERY PEGASUS finished 1.9 lengths behind the top selection in the race referred to above. She is drawn wide in barrier ten, but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

Race 7

FIRE ATTACK was withdrawn for the Grade 2 TAB Gauteng Guineas. He ran on from last when second in the Grade 3 Betway Got The Greenlight Stakes last time. The son of Fire Away should love the rise to 1800m and if not in need of this outing, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

PARISIAN WALKWAY is the stable companion of the top selection. He showed good guts and determination when winning the Grade 2 TAB Gauteng Guineas last time. The son of Ideal World tries the 1800m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should be hard to peg back.

ARISTOTLE finished 4.2 lengths behind the second selection last time. The son of Rafeef should be at home over this distance. Kabelo Matsunyane retains the ride and he is a solid back up for the Alec Laird stable.

Race 8

MAIN DEFENDER ran on powerfully when winning his last start over 1400m on this course. The son of Pathfork won this race last year. He is clearly in a good space and can defend his title.

BARBARESCO finished 0.9 lengths behind the top choice last time. He set the pace that day before getting outrun late. The son of Gimmethegreenlight jumps from a good draw of two and merits healthy respect.

LUCKY LAD was doing his best work late when third in the Grade 1 HKJC World Pool Cape Flying Championship last time. He has won five times and finished second twice from nine starts on this course. The son of Gimmethegreenlight cannot be ignored.

Race 9

DYCE did not go on with his effort in the Grade 1 HKJC World Pool Cape Flying Championship last time. It must be noted that Gimme A Prince has come out and won again since. Three of his ten career victories have come on this course. If all went well with his travels back to the Highveld, he should return to winning ways.

WILLIAM ROBERTSON won a good race in the Non-Black Type Marula Sprint last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The 6yo gelding always gives of his best and merits obvious inclusion.

GOLDEN SICKLE finished 0.4 lengths behind DREAMLAND last time. She is 5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.

Race 10

AMANDLA NGAWETHU ran a creditable race when fourth over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. He may be at his best over this distance at this stage of his career. The son of Rafeef is having his first run on the Highveld. Andrew Fortune is booked to ride and in this field, he may be the one to side with.

GIMME A STORM is better than her last start over 1400m on this course. She finished fourth in her first three career efforts. Should the top choice fluff his lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

WAR OF KINGDOMS is an unraced son of Gimmethegreenlight from the Sean Tarry stable with Craig Zackey in the saddle. He is related to four-time winner T’Challa. If not too green in running, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances
