TRAJANUS is a son of Danon Platina from the Sean Tarry yard with Craig Zackey in the saddle. He is related to five- time winner Anna Capri. If not in need of this outing, he should start his career on a positive note.

AFRICAN PRIDE is a son of Rafeef from the Corne Spies stable with Gavin Lerena doing duty. He is related to eight-time winner True To Life. If not too green, he should give a good account of himself.

JET BLACKFIRE hails from the Yogas Govender stable and he is a son of One World. He is related to four-time winner Thefutureisbright. If not in need of the run, he may produce a promising showing.

Race 2

HIERARCHY produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. She took time to find her feet, but the manner in which she finished off her race was eye-catching. The daughter of Erupt would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.

WATER HYACINTH ran a decent race on debut over this C&D. She returns from a 20-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. If not in need of the run, she may be the horse to fill the exacta spot.

FASCINATION ran a fair race on debut over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. She lost three lengths leaving the start and stayed on at the finish. The daughter of William Longsword would have come on from the run and she should make the natural progression.

Race 3

TRIPPING THUNDER has good recent form lines to his credit. He showed good speed over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth before getting caught late by Gimmeathrill. He has finished second twice from three starts over this distance. He is likely to race on the speed and can go one better.

VICTOR HUGO’S last start is best ignored as he was reported to be lame on his left hind. He returns from a 10-week break which may have done him the world of good. On previous form, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

ARISTOCRATIC is an unraced son of Danon Platina from the Dean Kannemeyer stable with Craig Zackey in the saddle. He is related to multiple winners including Simple Simple and Calantha. If not too green in running, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.

Race 4

CATCH A PENNY has good consistent form lines to her credit. She returns from an 11-week break which may have done her the world of good. She has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this distance. The blinkers have been removed and if not in need of the run, she may be rewarded for consistency.

MISS KANSAS produced a promising debut effort over 1000m on this course. She would have gained from the experience and should love the extra 200m on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should pose a massive threat.

HAZY DAZY ran a fair race on debut over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course. The drop to 1200m may suit her and if all went well with her travels, she should be competitive.

Race 5

INDIGENOUS has produced three good runs to date. He stayed on when second over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. The son of Danon Platina will love the rise to 1600m. He jumps from a good draw of two and may be the horse to side with.

UBERMENSCH showed very good improvement when second in his first run for the Sean Tarry stable. The son of Querari will love the rise to 1600m. Craig Zackey is booked to ride and he is one of the leading contenders.

EL CAPITAN showed some signs of needing his last start over this distance. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He may get his own way in front and may be hard to peg back.

 

 

Race 6

DAVE THE KING returns from a 24-week break after having excuses in his last two runs on the Highveld. The son of Global View won his only attempt over this C&D. He jumps from a good draw of three and if not in need of this outing, he can notch up his seventh-career victory.

ROYAL VICTORY tried hard when second over 2000m in the Grade 1 HKJC World Pool Premier’s Champions Challenge. This outing will bring him on nicely for future races, but he cannot be ignored.

PACAYA stayed on nicely in the Grade 1 WSB Cape Town Met last time. The 6yo gelding is at his best over further and if not too far out of his ground turning for home, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 7

ATTABOY was doing his best work late when fifth over 1800m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. He has won once and finished third twice from as many starts over this distance. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw and if not too far out of his ground turning for home, he can return to winning ways.

L’ULTIMO has good recent form lines to his credit. He would have come on from his last outing and should strip much fitter. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

LAKE COMO was an easy winner of his last start over this C&D. He received a five-pound penalty for that victory. He is in a good space and can follow up with another victory.

Race 8

HAT’S PRIDE’S last three starts before given a 12-week break were fair. He may not have seen out the 1800m last time. He has won once and finished third once from five starts over this C&D. If not in need of this outing, he can win a race of this nature.

PLAZA ACCORD is better than his last start over 1600m on the polytrack. He won his previous two starts over this distance. The son of Danon Platina is one of the leading contenders.

TIRPITZ stayed on after having to overcome the widest draw over this C&D last time. He won a good race in his penultimate start which was his first run for the Gary Rich stable. If jumping on terms, it would be no surprise to see him in the winner’s enclosure.

Race 9

ABADDON returns from a well-deserved 14-week break. He followed up his maiden win with an equally impressive victory over 1200m on this course. He takes a rise in class, but carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs. He will be running on strongly and can bring up the hat-trick.

JET LEGACY finished 0.2 lengths behind MOJO MAN last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

MOJO MAN was given a well-timed ride when winning his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He is in a good space and with Callan Murray booked to ride, he merits healthy respect.

Race 10

IBHELE showed pace over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Rafa’s Boy. The son of Captain Of All has dropped to a competitive rating and he can return to winning ways. 

PHILISPIEL finished 0.6 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 4kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around. Three of his five career victories have come over this C&D and he cannot be ignored. 

RHYTHM showed some signs of needing his comeback run over this C&D. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Savanna Valjalo takes the 4kgs off his back and he can feature
