Race 1

CAPTAINSHIP showed good improvement when second in his last start with the blinkers fitted. He was reported to be cut into on his left hind that day which makes the effort that much more encouraging. The son of Captain Of All is a progressive type and with luck in running, he should go one better. 

TOP GUN‘S last two starts have been good. He finished second in his penultimate outing over this C&D. Calvin Habib is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most. 

WHEREVERILAYMYHAT should have finished closer last time and he should have won his penultimate effort. He hung towards the outside in both those efforts. If Athandiwe Mgudlwa is able to keep him on a straight line, he can shed his maiden tag. 

Race 2

GOT THE FEVER challenged strongly when fourth over 1800m on this course last time. She ran a good race when second in her penultimate run over this C&D. The daughter of Rafeef is back against her own sex and she is having her peak run. With luck from the widest draw, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure. 

NAUTICAL LANDING set the pace over this distance on the polytrack last time but found one too good in the form of One Path. She is having her peak run and should be cherry-ripe. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

ZALTA STAR hails from the visiting Alec Laird stable. The daughter of Canford Cliffs is lightly raced with fair form lines to her credit. If everything goes well with her travels, she should earn another cheque. 

Race 3

TYRCONNELL was touched off in his last start over this C&D. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. The son of The United States takes a drop in class and can go one better.

I SALUTE YOU should have finished closer last time as he was switched for running room at the 300m mark. The son of Soqrat will love the rise to 1600m. He is a horse with plenty of scope and in this small field, he may be the one to fill the exacta spot. 

MVELELO is better than his last start as the saddle was reported to have slipped and he was reported to be fatigued post-race. The son of What A Winter won his only attempt over this C&D. He is a solid back up for the Mike de Kock stable. 

Race 4

KIMBALL O’HARA stayed on nicely when fourth over 1400m on the polytrack last time. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. The son of Gimmethegreenlight takes a drop in class and from his good draw of two, he should notch up his fourth-career victory. 

JAZZ FESTIVAL ran on strongly when third over this C&D last time. He has won twice and finished third once from five starts over this C&D. He drops back in class and is one of the leading contenders. 

SHOTGUN WILLIE is better than his last start. His penultimate run when second over 1750m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville, catches the eye. If putting his best foot forward, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest. 

 

 

Race 5

GIVERS GRACE won a good race in her last start over this C&D, at a nice price. She raced from a handy position, quickened up nicely and won going away. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory. The daughter of Hat Puntano is in a good space and from her good draw of three, she can follow up with another victory. 

ENGLISH PRIMROSE has finished second in her last three starts over this distance on the polytrack. This will be her first run on this track. Calvin Habib is booked to ride and he may be able to get the best out of her where it matters most. 

HOT STRIKE finished 3.75 lengths behind the top selection last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. 

Race 6

SHIPHOLIA stayed on at the finish over 1100m on this course last time. She finished 0.75 lengths behind BEVIES DELIGHT in her penultimate run. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has won twice and finished second four times from nine starts over this distance. The 5yo mare will be mowing down the frontrunners. 

BEVIES DELIGHT fought hard when second over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time, but found one too good in the form of No Filter. Her record on this course is an obvious concern, but she cannot be ignored. 

SOVEREIGN GRANT returns from a 21-week break which may have done her the world of good. She finished third in her only attempt over this distance. She has some class about her and must be included in all bets. 

Race 7

REGENERATION caught the eye when winning on debut over 1200m on this course. The manner in which she quickened up and finished off her race was impressive. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The daughter of Danon Platina takes on stronger, but she could be anything and can remain unbeaten. 

FORT J’ADORE has consistent form lines to her credit. She has won three times, finished second once and third twice from 14 starts over this distance. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

STATE SECRET showed signs of a form return in her last start over 1600m on this course. The drop to 1400m is a slight concern but she has cracked a good draw of four, and can earn another cheque. 

Race 8

KITCHAKAL was running on when fifth over 1600m on this course last time. He was carded to race against much stronger on 03 November 2024, but was scratched due to no suitable jockey. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he can return to winning ways. 

NEITHERHERENORTHER has won his last two starts with ease, the latest of which was over this C&D. He takes a rise in class but is in a good space and can bring up the hat-trick. 

PHUTULICIOUS ran a good race when fourth over 1200m on this course last time. It must be noted that Imperial Power has come out and won again since. He returns to his favourite distance and from pole position, he should go close
