Race 1

FLYING SOUTH finished 0.4 lengths behind MOSCOW MISS last time. She is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of What A Winter is a progressive type and she may be the horse to side with. 

MOSCOW MISS showed good speed over this distance last time, but found one too good in the form of Hierarchy. Andrew Fortune is booked to ride, and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most. 

RACEWAY hails from the visiting Fanie Bronkhorst stable. She is better than her last start as the jockey reported something to be amiss in running. Her penultimate run when second over this distance at Turffontein catches the eye. If finding the form of that run, she should be involved at the finish. 

Race 2

GORGEOUS BOMB should have finished closer to the winner last time as she had to be switched for running room at the 200m mark. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber carries 53kgs and she jumps from pole position. She should get a good run in transit and can shed her maiden tag. 

TIME WILL TELL showed speed over this distance at the Vaal last time, but found one too good in the form of Got The Feeling. He gets the blinkers fitted which should keep his mind on the task at hand. Gavin Lerena rides and if all went well with his travels, he should go close.

K M V RETROFIT ran a good race when third over 1400m on the turf last time. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she should earn another cheque for her patrons.

Race 3

CATCH A PENNY has very good consistent form lines to her credit. She cost herself winning last time as she hung inwards in the final 400m. The daughter of Vercingetorix would have come on from the run and if taking to the polytrack, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure. 

CHERRY OH BABY has been costly to follow. She stayed on when third over 1600m last time. The daughter of Danon Platina gets the blinkers fitted which should keep her mind on the task at hand. Callan Murray retains the ride and she should go close. 

LEMON THYME found one too good in the form of Greenlight Skye last time. The daughter of Legislate has scope and she should run a big race. 

Race 4

FRENCH FLAME was doing his best work late when fourth over 1600m on this course last time. He has won once and finished third twice from five starts over this distance. He would have come on from his last outing and should strip much fitter. He gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which may do the trick. If keeping on a straight line, he should be the horse to beat. 

SAVANTRIX is the stable companion of the top choice. He returns from a 14-week break, which may have done him the world of good. The son of Vercingetorix is a solid back up for the Dean Kannemeyer stable. 

KITCHAKAL has fair recent form lines to his name. The 11-week break may have been what he needed. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Race 5

AZALEAS FOR ALL moved up well over 1600m last time, before getting outrun late. She has won once and finished third once from five starts over this distance. Gavin Lerena steps back into the saddle and if all went well with her travels, she should fight out the finish. 

RANI TARABAI was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over 1800m on the turf. She should enjoy the rise to 2000m. The daughter of Rafeef takes on stronger, but she has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand. 

QONDANEKUKHANYENI moved up well over 1600m last time, but cost herself by hanging inwards in the final 150m. The daughter of Global View is likely to race on the speed from her awkward draw of nine and may be hard to peg back.

 

 

Race 6

NUMZAAN has good recent form lines to his credit. He raced from a handy position over this C&D last time and stayed on to finish third. It must be noted that Eventidor has come out and won again since. He will strip a much fitter horse and despite his big mass of 64kgs, he should be hard to peg back.

VIVA DE JANEIRO has fair recent form lines to his name. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from ten starts over this distance. Gavin Lerena steps back into the saddle and he cannot be ignored.

SHINY BOB finished 2.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

Race 7

UZWANO won a good race over this C&D last time. He lost two lengths leaving the start and finished strongly. He received a six-pound penalty for that victory. The son of Gavin Lerena is in a good space and can follow up with another victory. 

SHOEFELLA has shown some signs of needing his last two starts. He has won twice and finished second once from four starts over this C&D. He drops in class and with luck in running, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice. 

GURKHA is better than his last start. He followed up his maiden win with a fair second-place finish. If putting his best foot forward, he can finish in the placings. 

Race 8

LIONS EYE ran a fair race in his comeback run over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. The son of Silvano won his maiden over this distance. He takes a drop in class and with luck in running, he can return to winning ways. 

ULTRA QUICK has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He has won once, finished second twice and third three times from 14 starts over this distance. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he should pose a threat. 

COTTON RON was his own worst enemy last time as he over raced in the early stages. Both his career victories have come over this distance. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he can finish in the money. 

Race 9

MOYA WA LALIGA is better than his last start over 1400m on the turf. He won a good race in his penultimate outing over this distance on the turf. The 6yo gelding has cracked pole position and if putting his best foot forward, he can notch up his sixth-career victory. 

SUPER FAST has good recent form lines to his credit. He finished 2.7 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. 

EXCEPT TEMPTATION‘S last two starts have been fair. He has won once and finished third twice from as many starts over this C&D. He drops back in class and with Callan Murray in the saddle, he would not be a shock winner
