Race 1

NO FILTER is better than her last start in the Grade 1 TAB Computaform Sprint at Turffontein. She would have come on from that outing and should strip much fitter. Her best form has come under S’manga Khumalo. The blinkers will sharpen her up and if getting away on terms, she may cross the winning line first.

THE ABDICATOR is having his first run for the Mike and Mathew de Kock stable. He has shown speed in his last two races over 1000m. Kabelo Matsunyane rides and he could have a say.

TRAFALGAR SQUARE ran a fair race over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. The 6yo gelding has won this race previously. Muzi Yeni rides and the combination cannot be discounted.

Race 2

INTENSITY is the only runner who has experience on his side. He ran a fair race on debut over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The son of The United States would have gained from the experience and should make the natural improvement.

FLAG CHAMP is an unraced son of Canford Cliffs from the Gareth van Zyl stable with S’manga Khumalo in the saddle. He is related to multiple winners including Flag Man. If not in need of this outing, he should start his career on a positive note.

BOURNE SUPREMACY hails from the Mike Miller stable and he is a son of Red Ray. Tristan Godden is booked to ride and if not too green around the turn, he can produce a promising showing.

Race 3

DARK MATTER ran an encouraging race on debut over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville, against male company. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of The United States would have come on from the run and she should love the rise to 1200m. With the natural improvement that is expected, she may be the one to side with.

DELAWARE RIVER hails from the visiting Stuart Pettigrew stable. She has shown signs of needing her first two starts. If all went well with her travels, she can show improvement in this field.

ROYAL KAILANI was in need of her debut over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. The daughter of Querari would have come on from the run and she should have improvement to come.

Race 4

MOCHA BLEND has been an impressive winner of her last two starts. Despite racing wide around the turn over 1800m last time, she quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. The daughter of Ideal World returns from a 13-week break which may have done her the world of good. She has been entered for the Hollywoodbets Durban July. Gavin Lerena retains the ride and if fit, she can bring up the hat- trick.

HAT’S QUEEN ran a good race when fourth in the Grade 2 Wilgerbosdrift Bridget Oppenheimer SA Oaks last time. She has won once, finished second once and third once from as many starts over this distance. She jumps from a good draw of two and is one of the leading contenders.

GOODNESSGRACIOUSME stayed on when third over 1800m in the Listed Schweppes Cape Fillies Classic last time. It must be noted that Give Me Everything has come out and won again since. If not in need of this outing, she should have a say.

Race 5

ROYAL AUSSIE stayed on at the finish when fifth in the Grade 2 Khaya Stables Diadem Stakes last time. There is a lack of genuine pace in this contest which could play into his hands from barrier three. The son of Royal Mo won this race last year and with Andrew Fortune in the saddle, he can defend his title.

MONTIEN tried hard when third in the Grade 1 WSB Cape Town Met last time. He has finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this distance. He is likely to race from just off the speed and should produce an encouraging return to the races.

THE REAL PRINCE was an easy winner in the Listed City Of Cape Town Jet Master Stakes last time. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from his wide draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

 

 

Race 6

SPUMANTE DOLCE ran a good race when second in the Grade 1 TAB Empress Club Stakes last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Vercingetorix is a filly with plenty of class and with luck in running, she can return to winning ways.

MON PETIT CHERIE was running on when third in the Grade 3 SplashOut Prix Du Cap last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She jumps from a good draw of two which is a big plus. If suited to this course, she should throw out a big challenge to the top selection.

GIVE ME EVERYTHING is a winner of her last four starts, the latest of which was over this C&D. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Race 7

EIGHT ON EIGHTEEN returns from a well-deserved 10-week break after winning both the Grade 1 WSB Cape Town Met and the Grade 1 SplashOut Cape Derby. The son of Lancaster Bomber is ideally at his best over further but he is loaded with class. If taking to this course, he should take a power of beating.

FIRE ATTACK fought hard for his last victory in the Grade 1 HKJC Premier’s Champions Challenge. He finished second in his only attempt over this distance. The son of Fire Away merits healthy respect.

COSMIC SPEED has good recent form lines to his credit. He ran on from last when second in the Grade 2 TAB Hawaii Stakes last time. He won the Grade 1 Wilgerbosdrift H F Oppenheimer Horse Chestnut Stakes in his penultimate run. He has won on this course previously and must be watched.

Race 8

RODEO DRIVE’S last two starts have been decent. She stayed on when fourth in the Grade 3 4Racing National Currency Sprint last time. She finished second in her only attempt over this C&D. The daughter of The United States is the best-weighted runner in this contest and she may be the one to beat.

KHETHIWE’S DESTINY ran a good race when fourth in her last start over this C&D. She would have come on from the run. The widest draw is the obvious concern, but with luck in running, she may be the one to fill the exacta spot.

BASKED IN GLORY just lasted when winning her last start over 1000m on the Turffontein inside course. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and if switching off early, she should have a say.

Race 9

EL DANTE had to overcome a wide draw when fourth over 1200m last time. His penultimate run when 2 lengths behind the winner over 1000m, catches the eye. The 7yo gelding is having his peak run and has cracked a handy draw of six. It is encouraging that Muzi Yeni retains the ride and the combination can go close.

MOYA WA LALIGA was an easy winner of his last start over 1200m on this course. The slight concern is that he is yet to win over this distance. However, he is in a good space and cannot be ignored.

WORLD OF OUR OWN was running on when fourth over 1800m on this course last time. He has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. With a bit of luck in running, he should be involved at the finish
