Winning Form selections for Fairview on Friday 2nd May where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter @Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge
RACE 1
LA VIDA LOCA is having her first run for Juan Nel and she brings fair KZN form lines with her. She raced from a handy position over 1600m last time, but found one too good in the form of Got The Fever. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. If not in need of the run, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
STAR OF ELENA had excuses on debut over 1000m on the turf. It must be noted that Anotherdanceforme has come out and won again since. The daughter of Quasillo would have gained from the experience and she should make the natural improvement.
CLEVER CANDY returns from an 18-week break and is having her first run for Alan Greeff. The daughter of Heavenly Blue has plenty of scope and if suited to the polytrack, she should improve.
RACE 2
DUTCHESS D’ORANGE has shown good improvement since relocating to the Eastern Cape. She stayed on when third against males over this distance on the turf last time. The daughter of Duke Of Marmalade gets the cheekpieces fitted which should keep her mind on the task at hand. She carries a handy galloping mass of 52.5kgs and may be the one to side with.
GENTEEL was disappointing over 1400m last time. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and on previous form, she should pose a threat.
OH MANDY made late headway when fourth over 1600m on this course last time. She will enjoy the rise to 1900m and with luck in running, she should be competitive.
RACE 3
HOLOCENE is one of the better bets on today’s card. He ran a fair race when fifth over this distance on the turf last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He drops back in class. He is drawn awkwardly in barrier nine but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
HOSPICES DE BEAUNE found betting support when winning his local debut over this C&D. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He takes on stronger, but is in a good space and should give a good account of himself.
FEARLESS BADGER ran a fair race when fifth over 2000m on the turf last time. He was squeezed leaving the start, but stayed on at the finish. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. In this field, he should be right there.
RACE 4
MISS SHAIVI ran a good race when third over 1300m last time. She finished 0.1 lengths behind SWISS WALT that day. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of What A Winter can return to winning ways.
SWISS WALT was an easy winner of his last start over 1000m on this course. He jumps from pole position and merits healthy respect.
ORIGINAL COPY was disappointing in her first run out of the maidens. The daughter of Trippi has plenty of scope and she tries the polytrack. If taking to the surface, she may show signs of a form return.
RACE 5
MERCANTOUR stayed on after a slow start over 1000m last time. The son of Var has won twice and finished third once from five starts over this distance. This is his third run in the Eastern Cape. Richard Fourie retains the ride and if jumping on terms, he should be the one to beat.
FIRST ORIGIN showed speed over 1000m last time, but found one too good in the form of Kingdundee. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from five starts over this C&D. The son of What A Winter may be hard to peg back.
USA’S HOPE finished 0.75 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.
Race 6
GOLDEN GREY was running on when second over 1600m on the turf in his local debut. The drop to 1400m may be ideal for him. He carries a handy galloping mass of 55kgs and with luck in running, he should go one better.
ALWAYS SHINING was touched off in his last start over 1400m on the turf. He has finished second once and third once from three starts on this course. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
LIGHTNINGFORK’S last two starts have been fair. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from his awkward draw of seven, and he will be staying on at the business end.
RACE 7
SILVER TYCOON was not disgraced when fourth over 1600m on this course last time. He raced from a handy position and despite taking the turn wide, he stayed on nicely at the finish. He has won once and finished third three times from seven starts over this C&D. With a bit of luck in running, he can return to winning ways.
LEGAL THRILLER finished 0.75 lengths behind PASHTUNWALI last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
PASHTUNWALI has fair consistent form lines to his name. He would have come on from his last outing and should strip much fitter. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be running on.
RACE 8
THREAD OF LIFE took on slightly stronger over 1600m on this course last time. She stayed on at the finish on that occasion. The daughter of Master Of My Fate has won over this C&D previously. She drops in class and with a bit of luck from her awkward draw of eight, she can notch up her third-career victory.
KOMESANS PASSION was not beaten far over 1200m on the turf last time. Her penultimate run when third catches the eye. Craig Zackey steps back into the saddle and if putting her best foot forward, she should be involved.
ICE CAP was running on when second over this C&D last time. She returns from a 16-week break which may have done her the world of good. If not in need of this outing, she should give a good account of herself
