RACE 1

GOLDEN GREY has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings, but he has been costly to follow. He was beaten a head on this course, three runs ago. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure. 

GENTEEL set the pace over 1900m last time and tried hard all the way to the line. She has finished second twice and third twice from five starts over this distance. Should the top choice fluff his lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

FIZZLY BUBBLY finished 3.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights which is not enough for the tables to be turned, but he should finish closer. 

RACE 2

LAUGH TILL I CRY raced from a handy position over 1400m on the turf last time but found one too good in the form of Umzolozolo. She has cracked a good draw of four and can go one better. 

MIDNIGHT MUSIC finished 2.85 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result. Her penultimate run when second over 1200m on this course, catches the eye. She tries the mile for the first time and if suited to the distance, she should pose a threat. 

JUST FOR U raced from a handy position over this distance on the grass last time, but found one too good in the form of Twilight Bay. She would have come on from the run and the tongue-tie may do the trick. She is a filly with scope and can finish in the first three. 

RACE 3

WORDSWORTH stayed on when fourth over 1200m on the turf last time. Four of his five career victories have come over this distance. He won his penultimate start in this class. The 7yo gelding will be mowing down the frontrunners. 

CRUZADOR showed good signs of a form return over 1300m on this course last time. He has won once, finished second once and third twice from eight starts over this C&D. He is the stable elect with Craig Zackey in the saddle and is one of the leading contenders. 

NOTORIX ran a good race when third over 1200m on this course last time. He raced from a handy position and stayed on at the finish. Three of his five career victories have come over this C&D. He is in a good space and cannot be ignored. 

RACE 4

STRING OF LIGHTS ran on well when winning her last start over this C&D. She returns from a well- deserved 10-week break which would have done her the world of good. She gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Jacey Botes which will assist her cause. If not in need of the run, she can follow up with another victory. 

SMASHING won her last start over 1200m on this course easier than the official margin suggests. She received a five-pound penalty for that victory. Despite her big mass of 63kgs, she should be involved at the finish. 

SWEET JULIA finished 0.1 lengths behind SWISS PARADISE last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

BROOKSIDER finished 6.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. He was reported to be coughing that day. He is drawn well in barrier two and on best form shown, he should earn another cheque. 

Race 6

COLORAMA finished 1.25 lengths behind BRETTY last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Two of her four career victories have come over this C&D. She carries a handy galloping mass of 53kgs and will be mowing down the frontrunners. 

BRETTY ran on powerfully when winning her last start over this C&D. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be doing her best work at the business end. 

COURAGEOUS finished 2 lengths behind the second choice in the race referred to above. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. 

RACE 7

GUARDING THE WALL is better than his last start over 1200m on the turf. He ran a good race when second over this C&D in his penultimate outing. The son of Querari drops in class and with Luyolo Mxothwa back in the saddle, he can return to winning ways. 

ARIVIDICIO was running on when second over 1600m on this course last time. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw and will be doing his best work at the finish. 

HAT HOT HAT finished 0.3 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish. 

RACE 8

WALKONTHEWILDSIDE is the best bet on the programme. She has good consistent form lines to her credit. She lost two lengths leaving the start last time and stayed on to finish second. She is having her peak run and will be cherry-ripe. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight drops in class and if jumping on terms, she should be too good for this field. 

THREE CHEERS got up late when winning her last start over this C&D. She gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Jacey Botes which will assist her cause. The daughter of Soqrat merits healthy respect. 

DARLING HARBOUR finished 1.6 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 2kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result
