Race 1 

DONDOYAKI from the Fanie Bronkhorst stable. Her last start is best ignored as she was reported to be not striding out. She finished second in her penultimate run over this C&D. If finding the form of that outing, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure. 

WINDSOR SILK was in need of her debut effort over 1160m on this course. She would have gained from the experience and should make the natural improvement. 

AMAZONIAN raced green on debut over 1160m on this course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She would have come on from the run and should make the natural progression. 

Race 2

DELAWARE RIVER ran a fair race when third over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She steps up to 1400m and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should be involved at the finish. 

AMAZE ME ran a fair race when fourth over 1000m on the Inside course last time. The daughter of Potala Palace is a progressive type and she is one of the leading contenders. 

CONCORDIA is better than her last start over 1200m. She finished second in her penultimate run over this C&D. Serino Moodley rides from a good draw of two and she can show.

Race 3

JABARI THIMBA is the best bet on the card. The well-related son of Pathfork produced an encouraging debut effort over 1160m on this course. He took time to find his feet that day, but stayed on nicely at the finish. The son of Pathfork will be at home over the 1400m and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should take a power of beating. 

CARNARVON has fair form lines to his name. It must be noted that Jan Van Goyen has come out and won again since. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

PALACE ATTACK finished 0.5 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms and there should not be much separating them at the finish. 

Race 4

TRUE HERO is an unraced son of Captain Of All from the Roy Magner stable with Raymond Danielson in the saddle. His brother Ibhele won on debut over 800m. He does not need to be a stable superstar to win a race of this nature. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances. 

CHILLI MARMALADE found one too good in the form of Misty Metal last time. Kabelo Matsunyane is booked to ride and she should be the first raced runner past the post. 

SUMMER SHADE stayed on when third over 1000m on the Inside course last time. He jumps from an inside draw and can earn another cheque.

Race 5

TWENTY DRACHMA‘S was not disgraced when fifth in the Listed Lonsdale Stirrup Cup last time. He has won twice, finished second twice and third twice from seven starts over this C&D. The son of Danon Platina can return to winning ways. 

ALADDIN‘S LAMP is a winner of his last two starts. It must be noted that multiple horses from his last form line have come out and won since. If seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can bring up the hat-trick. 

VESUVIO stayed on when second over 2000m last time. He won his penultimate outing over this C&D. Apprentice Girish Dookhit takes the 4kgs off his back and if all goes according to plan, he should be competitive. 

 

 

Race 6

THE ULTIMATE KING followed up his maiden win with a good victory over 1600m on this course last time. He returns from a well-deserved 10-week break. The son of Vercingetorix has class about him and from pole position, he is the horse to beat. 

AMERICAN REBEL has won his last two starts, the latest of which was over this C&D. Gavin Lerena has opted to ride the top choice. However, Piere Strydom picks up the ride and the combination merit healthy respect. 

EIGER SANCTION ran a good race when second over this C&D last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back. 

Race 7

UNSOLVED RIDDLE ran a fair race over this distance on the Inside course last time. He ran on strongly when second over 1500m at the Vaal in his penultimate run, under Piere Strydom. He jumps from a good draw of three and can notch up his fourth-career victory. 

IMPACT INVESTOR is better than his last start at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He finished second behind The Ultimate King over this C&D in his penultimate outing. If finding the form of that run, he should pose a massive threat. 

LAVA COUNTY was given a peach of a ride when winning his maiden over 1500m on the Inside course. He takes on stronger but has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.

Race 8

HAWKBILL kept on finding when winning his last start over 2000m on this course. He received a three- pound penalty for that victory. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride, and he can follow up with another victory. 

BEYNAC stayed on when second over 1600m at the Vaal last time. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. From his good draw of four, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice. 

DON‘T CRY FOR ME raced in the Grade 3 4Racing Sea Cottage Stakes last time. It is encouraging that Piere Strydom steps back into the saddle and on best form shown, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest. 

Race 9

OBSIDIAN was an impressive winner of his last start over 1600m on the Inside course. He raced from a handy position, found a good kick and was geared down in latter stages. He has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. The son of Erupt is in a good space and can follow up with another victory. 

PEACE TREATY showed good signs of a form return in the Non-Black Type KZN Breeders 1600 last time. He would have come on from the run and the tongue-tie seems to have done the trick. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners. 

GREGARIOUS is better than his last start as he was reported to be not striding out. He gets the blinkers fitted and on previous form, he should be right there
