RACE 1
ABOVE THE HORIZON ran a fair race when third over 1200m on the turf last time. The son of Horizon will love the rise to 1400m. He meets the right field and if suited to the polytrack, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
SUPREME JUDGE finished second over 1000m on this course last time. The cheekpieces seem to have done the trick. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
GREY WARRIOR was in need of his debut effort over 1200m on the turf. The son of Heavenly Blue steps up to 1400m and stable Jockey Richard Fourie steps into the saddle. He should have improvement to come.
RACE 2
MAKE BELIEVE is an unraced daughter of Canford Cliffs from the Gavin Smith stable with Richard Fourie in the saddle. Her mother, Fee Fi Foe Fum was a three-time winner from 1200m to 1900m. She does not need to be a stable superstar to win in this field. If not too green, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.
PRICELESS TREASURE has produced two fair efforts over this C&D. She is back against her own sex and should be the first male past the post. She is carded to race on 22 April 2025 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.
SMART STAR finished 4.25 lengths behind the second selection on debut. The daughter of Captain Of All would have gained from the experience and she should make the natural improvement.
RACE 3
MIDWICKET showed some improvement in her last start over 1200m on this course. She raced from a handy position and stayed on to finish third. The daughter of One World will love the rise to 1600m and she may be the one to side with in this field.
DUCHESS OF SEVILLE stayed on when third over 1400m on this course last time. She finished 1.75 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
TWILIGHT BAY should have finished closer to the winner last time as she was steadied at the 100m mark. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. With a bit of luck in running, she should be involved at the finish
RACE 4
HOME REEF ran a creditable race when third over 2000m on the turf last time. He finished 0.75 lengths behind SAN QUINTIN that day. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He won his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Erupt jumps from a good draw of four and he should take a power of beating.
HAARLEM finished off his last race well over 2000m on the turf. The son of Fire Away should be ideally suited to the extra 200m on offer. If he is not too far out of his ground turning for home, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
HEAD GARDENER returns from a 14-week break which may have done him the world of good. If finding the form of his penultimate run, he should go close to winning.
RACE 5
STRATA is a winner of both her starts in the Eastern Cape on the turf. She fought hard for her last victory over 1200m. The daughter of Canford Cliffs takes on her own sex today and she jumps from pole position. If taking to the polytrack, she can bring up the hat-trick.
JADE’S CABERNEIGH ran a fair race over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight cannot be ignored.
HAVANA GREY is better than her last start as she was reported to be coughing. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. With a bit of luck in running, she can earn another cheque.
Race 6
DUBAI HILLS ran on well when winning his last start over this C&D. He received a five-pound penalty for that victory. The son of Flower Alley is in a good space and can follow up with another victory.
WHATEVER NEXT finished 4 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
MOVING IN is another from the powerful Alan Greeff stable. She finished off her last race well over 1000m on this course. The daughter of What A Winter would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. With a bit of luck in running, she should give the males a run for their money.
RACE 7
AS FATE HAS IT finished 0.75 lengths behind HEART PEAKS in her last start. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has won twice and finished second once from six starts over this C&D. The daughter of Vercingetorix is back in Handicap Company and she can go one better.
HEART PEAKS was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over 1400m on the turf. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
CATCH YOUR BREATH is better than her last two starts. She has won twice from three outings over this C&D. The daughter of Canford Cliffs jumps from a good draw of three and can find a form return under Richard Fourie.
RACE 8
FIRE ALARM is better than her post maiden effort over 1800m on the turf. The daughter of Fire Away won her maiden over this C&D. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and from pole position, she may be the one to side with.
MISTER WHISTLE ran on strongly when second over 1300m on this course last time. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. With a bit of luck in running, he should pose a threat.
SAMTHEWISEMAN stayed on at the finish over 1200m on the turf last time. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
