Race 1
MAGICAL PLACE has produced two good runs over this C&D. The son of What A Winter has scope and with racing experience on his side, he should be the one to beat.
OBJET D’ ART finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice on debut. He should have finished closer that day as he hung outwards in the final 300m. The son of What A Winter would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be competitive.
DIGBY has run three decent races to date. He returns from a 14-week break, during which time he was gelded. If not in need of the run, he should give a good account of himself.
Race 2
ROLAND GARROS is better than his last start in the Grade 3 Langerman. He won his previous two efforts. The son of Vercingetorix has ability and if putting his best foot forward, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
SILVER CROWN finished 1.5 lengths behind SCOTTISH KISS last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He will strip a much fitter horse and is one of the leading contenders.
SCOTTISH KISS won a good race over this C&D last time. He raced from just off the pace, showed a good turn of foot and drew off late. The son of Gimmethegreenlight is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
Race 3
GOLD GIBOSKI has finished third in his last three starts. He raced from a handy position over 1600m last time and stayed on at the finish. The son of Gold Standard jumps from a good draw of three and with Muzi Yeni in the saddle, he can shed his maiden tag.
WORLD WARRIOR showed good improvement when second over 1200m last time. He stayed on at the finish but found one too good in the form of Note To Self. The son of One World will love the rise to 1400m and with a bit of luck in running, he should pose a threat.
KONNICHIWA produced an encouraging comeback run over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He will strip much fitter and must be included.
Race 4
YAMAZAKI‘S last two starts over this C&D have been good. He raced from a handy position last time, but found one too good in the form of Better Man. The son of Danon Platina meets the right field and he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
SIGNOR DANTE ran a fair race over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The son of Rafeef has scope and he may be the horse to fill the exacta spot.
LOVE FROM AFAR ran a fair race over 1500m on this course last time. If Corne Orffer is able to switch him off early, he should finish in the placings.
Race 5
TENPENNY was an easy winner in his last start over this C&D. Despite getting squeezed leaving the start, he quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. The son of What A Winter meets a similar type of field today and can follow up with another victory.
KAMCHATKA‘S last three starts have been good. She has won three times and finished second twice from six starts over this distance. The daughter of Erupt is in a good space and she should give the males a run for their money.
SONG TO THE MOON finished 0.85 lengths behind WE HAVE TOUCHDOWN last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this distance. His last victory came under Muzi Yeni and the pair merit healthy respect.
Race 6
STATE CAPITOL has produced two good runs since returning from a 16-week break. She was running on when second over 1800m on this course last time. She is having her peak run and will be cherry-ripe. Gareth Wright knows her well and in this field, she can go one better.
NARETOI finished 0.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
SANSA STARK is better than her last two starts. She drops back in class and on best form shown, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 7
GREEN PLANET ran a good race when second over 1200m on this course last time. He was reported to be coughing that day which makes the effort that much more encouraging. It must be noted that the form has been franked. Grant van Niekerk is booked to ride and he may be the horse to side with.
BLIND DATE produced a strong finish when winning his maiden over 1200m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The son of Futura takes on stronger, but he has scope and should be up to the task at hand.
SPIRIT followed up his maiden victory with a good third-place finish over 1200m. The son of Rafeef has ability and should be involved in the fight to the finish.
Race 8

TRUE HORIZON finished 2.75 lengths behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.
LOVERS LANE is better than his last start over this C&D. His previous two efforts were good. The son of Crusade gets the services of 1.5kgs claiming apprentice Brevan Plaatjies which will assist his cause
