Uefa Champions League Round 5 continues on Wednesday night when our focus is on Aston Villa v Juventus and Liverpool v Real Madrid
Prices below from BoyleSports are correct at the time of writing but subject to change
Villa 14/10 Draw 22/10 Juventus 9/4
Villa have won 3 and lost 1 of their first 4 UCL matches which saw them finish the previous round number 8 in the standings, the last of the automatic qualification places for the knockout rounds. They started with 3 straight wins, all with clean sheets, at Young Boys (3-0), at home to Bayern (1-0) and at home to Bologna 2-0 but they came unstuck in Round 4, losing 1-0 away to Brugge.
Villa have gone of the boil domestically and are without a win in their last 6 across all competitions. They have slipped to eighth in the EPL standings and also exited the EFL Cup recently.
Juventus have 7 points from a record comprising of 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat. It all started very well with wins at home to PSV (3-1) and away to Leipzig (3-2). A round 3 home game against Stuttgart saw them beaten 1-0 and last time out they drew 1-1 away at Lille.
Juve are unbeaten in Serie A but they have become draw specialists with 7 of their matches ending all square alongside 6 wins and that puts them in sixth position, 4 points off the pace set by Napoli.
The Verdict
As their record suggests Juve are obviously difficult to beat and Villa are out of form but I wouldn't be surprised with any of the 3 possible outcomes in the match result market. They way Villa defend there is likely to be chances for the visitors and Vlahovic would seem there most likely source of a goal.
Bets: Anytime goalscorer Dusan Vlahovic at 9/4 with BoyleSports
Liverpool 19/20 Draw 2.65/1 Real Madrid 3/1
Liverpool boast the only 100% record in the competition after 4 straight wins and they already are closing in on automatic qualification for the knockout rounds. The only goal they have conceded came in a 3-1 win at AC Milan on Matchday 1 and they have backed that up with victory at home to Bologna (2-0), away to Leipzig (1-0) and at home to Leverkusen (4-0).
Liverpool's EPL record of 10 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat has seen them open up an 8 point gap over Manchester City in the title race and they will host City at Anfield on Sunday.
Real have work to do after winning 2 and losing 2 of their first 4 matches and they finished the previous round down in eighteenth position. They started with a 3-1 home win over Stuggart but then went down 1-0 away to Lille. A 5-2 home win over Dortmund was then followed by a 3-1 home defeat to AC Milan.
Real are currently second in La Liga, 4 points behind Barcelona but they do have a game in hand.
The Verdict
Vinicius Jr is reportedly out for Real and at the time of writing Alexander Arnold is a doubt for Liverpool who's team selection will be interesting with City coming up at the weekend. Real are under pressure and can ill afford another defeat so its an intriguing match up with Liverpool showing no signs of letting up in any competition.
I'll admit to being stumped by this one and will limit my betting interest to a nibble at the draw
