Uefa Champions League Round 6 gets under way on Tuesday night when our focus is on RB Leipzig v Aston Villa and Atalanta v Real Madrid

RB Leipzig 16/10 Draw 2.55/1 Aston Villa 16/10
Leipzig have had a nightmare tournament, losing all 5 of their matches and they are 1 of 3 teams at the foot of the standings. As it stands the last of the play off places (24th position) is occupied by Real Madrid who have 6 points so although we have 3 rounds of matches still to play it would take an extraordinary sequence of results for the Bundesliga side to avoid elimination.
They have lost 2-1 away to Atletico, 3-2 at home to Juve and to Liverpool (1-0) before going down 3-1 at eltic and most recently 1-0 at Inter.
Leipzig are fourth in the Bundesliga, 9 points behind Bayern with a record of 7 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats.
Villa won 3, drawn 1 and lost 1 of their first 5 UCL matches and they finished the previous round number 9 in the standings just outside the automatic qualification places for the knockout rounds. However it's tight with teams from sixth to twelfth all on 10 points and some big guns will be looking to force their way back into the reckoning.
Villa started with 3 straight wins, all with clean sheets, at Young Boys (3-0), at home to Bayern (1-0) and at home to Bologna 2-0 but they came unstuck in Round 4, losing 1-0 away to Brugge. Last time out they played out a 0-0 draw at home to Juve.
After losing their way domestically Villa have won back to back home games in the EPL against Brentford (3-1) and Southampton (1-0) to move back up to sixth position, 10 points behind league leaders Liverpool.
The Verdict
Villa have this game, a visit to Monaco and finally a home game against Celtic and whilst Leipzig have had a woeful UCL campaign, they did win a league game at the weekend and their overall Bundesliga record isn't too bad.
As the match result betting suggests this is a tricky call although gut feel is Villa can avoid defeat in a game where both sides contribute to the scoring.
Bets: Double Chance & Both Teams To Score, Draw/Villa and yes at 13/10 with Betway
Atalanta 1.75/1 Draw 11/4 Real Madrid 14/10
Atalanta are unbeaten with 3 wins and 2 draws which outs them in fifth spot. They have scored 11 goals and conceded just the 1 but both earlier home games, against Arsenal and Celtic finished without a goal. Away from home they have won at Shakhtar (3-0), Stuttgart (2-0) and most recently Young Boys (6-1).
In Serie A Atalanta are top of the log, 2 points clear of Napoli with a record of 11 wins, 1 draw and 3 defeats and they are the divisions top scorers with 38 goals.
Real have work to do after winning 2 and losing 3 of their first 4 matches and they finished the previous round down in 24th position. They started with a 3-1 home win over Stuggart but then went down 1-0 away to Lille. A 5-2 home win over Dortmund was then followed by a 3-1 home defeat to AC Milan and last time out they lost 2-0 to Liverpool at Anfield.
Real are currently second in La Liga, 2 points behind Barcelona but they do have a game in hand.
The Verdict
Atalanta are in top form and perhaps just 1 more win away from what will be required to finish in the top 8.
Meanwhile Real are in big trouble and whilst they do have Salzburg and a visit to Brest to come, both of which look very winnable, they can ill afford to drop points here. With that in mind I'm with the draw, an outcome which I think Atalanta would settle for and might not be too disastrous for Real.
