Race 1

BETTER MAN was outrun late when third over 1400m last time. He returns from a 12-week break, during which time he was gelded. The son of One World should enjoy the rise to 1600m and if fit, he can shed his maiden tag.

NEW WORLD‘S last three starts have been good. He steps up to 1600m and the blinkers have been removed. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

YAMAZAKI ran a good race when third over this C&D last time. He was reported to have cast a shoe in running that day. The son of Danon Platina is a progressive type and with luck in running, he can show.

Race 2

STORMWATCH produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. She took time to find her feet, but the manner in which she finished off her race was eye-catching. The daughter of Vercingetorix would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she can go one better.

SWIFT SERENITY finished 0.35 lengths behind the top selection last time. She is 2.5kgs worse off at the weights and may have to settle for the same result. The daughter of Captain Of All is a progressive type and may be the horse to complete the exacta.

PEACHES AND CREAM is an unraced daughter of Gimmethegreenlight from the Candice Bass-Robinson stable with Aldo Domeyer in the saddle. She is related to multiple Grade 1 winner Double Grand Slam. If not too green in running, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.

Race 3

AFRICAN MEMOIR made the expected natural improvement when second over 1200m on this course last time. The manner in which he finished off his race that day was encouraging. The son of Canford Cliffs is a progressive type and should have no issues with the drop to 1000m. Corne Orffer retains the ride and he can go one better.

NIGHTRAIN finished 0.75 lengths behind the top selection on debut. He showed good speed before getting outrun late. The son of Rafeef would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be competitive.

DIAMOND BARON is an unraced son of Gimmethegreenlight from the Justin Snaith stable with Muzi Yeni in the saddle. His mother, Silvano’s Pride was a six-time winner from 1400m to 2000m. If not in need of this outing, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.

Race 4

UNITED FRONT produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. He set the pace before getting caught late by Star Major. The son of One World would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he may be the one to side with.

SIERRA SAGRADA was a tad disappointing in his last start and has been gelded since. His penultimate run when second over this distance catches the eye. The son of One World must be included in all bets.

KONNICHIWA stayed on when second over this distance last time but found one too good in the form of Gold Dust. He returns from a 13-week break which may have done him the world of good. With a bit of luck in running, he can finish in the money.

Race 5

APRICITY showed good improvement when second over this C&D last time. She was slow into stride and ran on well at the business end. The daughter of Horizon is a progressive type and from pole position, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

KISSES‘ last two starts have been good. She set the pace over 1500m last time, but found one too good in the form of Ocotillo. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. The daughter of Canford Cliffs is a progressive type and is one of the leading contenders.

PACIFIC WATERS stayed on at the finish when sixth over 1000m on debut. The daughter of One World would have come on from the run and she will enjoy the extra distance on offer. She jumps from a good draw of three and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should be competitive.

Race 6

CHURCHILLIAN followed up his maiden win with a good second-place finish in the Listed Somerset 1200. It must be noted that Absolutely Yes has come out and won again since. He won his maiden over this distance and is the horse to side with.

OCTOBER STORM was an easy winner on debut over this C&D. He showed a good turn of foot and drew clear of the opposition. The son of Vercingetorix could be anything and merits healthy respect.

FLYING FINLEY finished 0.75 lengths behind ESCARPMENT last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

Race 7

SUMMER LILY ran a fair race when sixth in the Grade 3 Dennis Drier Poinsettia Stakes last time. She has won once and finished third once from four starts over this C&D. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride, and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

TRIP TO MAPUTO‘S last two starts have been good. She ran on well when third in the Listed Milkwood Stakes last time. The daughter of Trippi is the stable elect with Aldo Domeyer in the saddle and will be looking to keep her unbeaten record over this C&D intact.

I’M SO PRITTI was in need of her comeback run over 1000m on this course. She has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this C&D. She will strip much fitter and should be competitive.

Race 8

SUGAR MOUNTAIN is a winner of his last two starts, the latest of which was in the Non-Black Type Winter Mile. The 6yo gelding should be ideally suited to this distance. Aldo Domeyer retains the ride, and the combination can bring up the hat-trick.

SEEKING THE STARS finished 3.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

BILLY BOWLEGS should have finished closer in the Listed Pocket Power Stakes last time as he hung in the final 300m. It must be noted that Otto Luyken has come out and won again since. On best form shown, he would not be a shock winner.

Race 9

AZZURRI found betting support when winning his last start over 1200m. The manner in which he finished off his race that day was eye-catching. The son of Pomodoro will be ideally suited to this distance. Apprentice Brevan Plaatjies retains the ride and with a bit of luck from his awkward draw of eight, he can follow up with another victory.

WAR CHARIOT was running on when third over this C&D last time. He finished 0.1 lengths behind WHAT A FORTUNE in his penultimate run. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

BOOGIEFIED set the pace over this C&D last time, but was outrun late by Industrialstrength. He is likely to adopt the same tactics from barrier two and may be hard to peg back.

Race 10

KING‘S QUEST won a good race over 1600m on this course last time. He raced from a prominent position, found another kick and drew clear of the opposition. He steps up to 1800m and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should be competitive.

ARBITRATION finished 3.05 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

ELEGANT NOBLE finished 2.75 lengths behind the top selection in the race referred to above. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result
