RACE 1
CONFETTI was a beaten odds-on favourite in her last start over this distance, on the turf. Her debut effort when second on this course was eye-catching. The daughter of Canford Cliffs may be at her best on this surface and if getting away to a clean start, she can shed her maiden tag.
QUEEN OF JAZZ showed good speed over this distance on the turf last time, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Pitzuchim. She has been costly to follow but is consistent and should pose a massive threat.
CAPE FLOWER finished 4.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result. The daughter of Futura gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand.
RACE 2
AND ACTION is having his first run for the Kelly Mitchley stable. He should have finished closer to the winner on the Hollywoodbets Greyville Polytrack last time as he hung inwards in the final 300m. If settled into his new surroundings, he can go one better.
JUSTCANTGETENOUGH stayed on when second over 1200m on the Polytrack last time. The son of Canford Cliffs jumps from pole position and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
STEALINGTHETHUNDER makes her local debut and is having her first run for the Alan Greeff stable. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last start has come out and won since. She is the stable elect with Richard Fourie aboard and improvement is expected.
RACE 3
FANNY KEMBLE has shown good improvement in her last two starts since arriving in the Eastern Cape. She raced from just off the pace last time and stayed on at the finish. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber is having her peak run today and if suited to the polytrack, she may be the one to beat.
LA PEQUENITA is having her first run for the Alan Greeff stable. It must be noted that the form of her last outing has been franked. She may be at her best over further and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
BEST INTENTIONS is better than her last start over this distance on the turf. She has finished second once and third twice from four starts on this course. On best form shown, she should be involved at the finish.
RACE 4
DANCE MO showed good improvement in her last start over this C&D. She raced from a handy position and stayed on to finish third. The daughter of Royal Mo is a progressive type and from her good draw of two, she may be the one to side with.
MILLENNIUM DANCER stayed on when second over this C&D last time. The cheekpieces seem to have done the trick on the daughter of Flower Alley. She jumps from pole position and is one of the leading contenders.
KAMARIA has shown improvement in her last two starts. The daughter of Global View steps back up to 1900m and the blinkers remain fitted. She has plenty of scope and can improve to finish in the placings.
Race 5
MAGICAL MIDLANDS was an easy winner of his last start over this distance on the turf. He returns from a well-deserved 10-week break which may have done him the world of good. The blinkers have done the trick. If not in need of the run, he can follow up with another victory.
CENTRAL CITY has good recent form lines to his name. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
STORM COMMANDER has consistent form lines to his name. He finished 0.75 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
Race 6
AERIAL VIEW was an easy winner of her last start over 1900m on this course. She set her own fractions and found more where it matters most. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The tongue-tie has done the trick and she is the horse to beat once again.
RAISING QUINN finished 2.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. The 5yo mare will be staying on at the business end.
LADY WRITER has good consistent form lines to her name. She has won once, finished second once and third three times from seven starts over this distance. She carries a handy galloping mass of 54.5kgs and should give another good account of herself.
RACE 7
GOCEKWITHLOVE is better than her last start on the Highveld. She is having her first run for the Alan Greeff stable. The daughter of Danon Platina takes a drop in class and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, she may be the one to beat.
RED SASH showed good improvement in her last start over this distance on the turf. She showed good pace and rallied late. The widest draw is the obvious concern but with luck in running, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
KABON KAPI produced a typical second run after a rest last time. She has won once and finished third once from three starts over this C&D. She jumps from barrier three and if finding the form of her penultimate run, she should be competitive.
RACE 8
SI GIOCA was touched off in her last start over 1000m on this course. It must be noted that Jade’s Caberneigh has come out and won again since. She has won once, finished second five times and third once from ten starts on this course. With luck in running, she should be the one to beat.
EMPRESSOFNORMANDY is having her first run for the Gavin Smith stable. The daughter of William Longsword has scope and she should pose a threat if suited to the polytrack.
REUNION HOTSPOT followed up her maiden win with a good third-place finish over 1600m on this course. She drops back in distance and if jumping on terms, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest
