Race 1

NEBRAAS ran a good race when second in the Listed TAB Gold Bowl last time. He took the lead at the 300m mark and tried hard all the way to the line. He has won once and finished second once from three starts over this C&D. The 8yo gelding can go one better.

SILENT WAR’S last two starts have been fair. He jumps from pole position and if seeing out the 2400m, he should be hard to peg back.

UNITED COUNCIL finished 6.75 lengths behind the top selection last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today which is not enough for the tables to be turned. She has won three times and finished third once from six starts over this C&D. She runs well for Gavin Lerena and can finish in the placings.

Race 2

LET’S GO LOLA produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. She understandably raced green, but the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The daughter of Hat Puntano would have gained from the experience and she is expected to be competitive. She is carded to race on 31 May 2025 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.

CHERICHERILADY showed some improvement when fourth over this C&D last time. The daughter of Vercingetorix is a progressive type and she may have more to come.

ONE SUMMER finished 2.25 lengths behind the second selection on debut. The daughter of One World would have gained from the experience and she should make the natural improvement.

Race 3

WINTER BELLE took her place in the Grade 3 Tote Strelitzia Stakes on debut. The jockey reported that something was amiss that day. The daughter of What A Winter would have come on from the run. She takes on Maiden Company today and with S’manga Khumalo in the saddle, she should have good improvement to come.

CARNARVON is lightly raced with decent form lines to his credit. The son of Elusive Fort has plenty of scope and should the top choice fluff her lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

CHAPBOOK dead-heated with the second choice for fifth on debut. The son of Rafeef would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should have a say.

Race 4

GOLDEN WARRIOR ran a good race when second over this distance on the Vaal Classic course last time. He moved up well before getting caught late by Chronicle King. S’manga Khumalo retains the ride and from pole position, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

REJUVENATE stayed on when third over this distance on the Vaal Classic course last time. The daughter of Potala Palace is a progressive type and she is one of the leading contenders.

MASTER SPY was not beaten far on debut over 1160m on this course. The son of Master Of My Fate would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1600m. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 5

CURTISS CONDOR raced from a handy position over 1450m on the Inside course last time, but found one too good in the form of Mighty Eagle. The son of Lancaster Bomber is a progressive type and will love the rise to 1600m. He jumps from pole position and should love racing on this track. S’manga Khumalo is booked to ride and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

FIRE STARTER has finished third in both his efforts to date. The son of Fire Away has scope and from his good draw of two, he may be hard to peg back.

MIRROR FLECTION finished 0.3 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

Race 6

ETHICAL has shown good improvement in each of her outings to date and she is coming along the right way. She was slow into stride over this distance last time, but finished off her race well. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and if jumping on terms, she should be the one to beat.

LAVA LAMP was outrun late over 1700m at the Vaal last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She has plenty of scope and must be included in all bets.

INTRO found one too good in the form of Lady Noir last time. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. Calvin Habib is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

Race 7

COUNT HUHTIKUU was running on when third over 1600m on this course last time. The son of Royal Mo won his maiden over this C&D. He carries another handy galloping mass of 52.5kgs and may be the one to side with.

BACCHUS finished 1.6 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today which is not enough for the tables to be turned. With a bit of luck in running, he should be right there.

TAXHAVEN caused an upset when winning the Listed TAB Gold Bowl last time. The son of Erupt is at his best over further but he is in a good space and cannot be ignored.

Race 8

BUFFALO STORM CODY has won both his efforts as a gelding, the latest of which was in the Non-Black Type Mythical Flight Sprint. The son of Buffalo Bill Cody has plenty of class about him and he should bring up the hat-trick.

READY TO CHARGE ran on powerfully when winning his last start over 1000m on this course. He would have come on from the run and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

QUANTUM THEORY tried hard when second over 1000m on this course last time. He finished 1.75 lengths behind DANTONFROMSANDTON in his penultimate run. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

Race 9

POINTER is better than her last start as she was reported to be not striding out. She has won twice and finished second twice from five starts over this C&D. Apprentice Nirvan Nastili takes the 2.5kgs off her back and if putting her best foot forward, she can return to winning ways.

KINDRED HEART ran a fair race over 1200m at the Vaal last time. She finished second in her only attempt over this C&D. The daughter of Erupt is likely to race on the speed and she may be hard to peg back.

HONG KONG finished 1.9 lengths behind BLIZZARD SNOW last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them at the finish
