Winning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Monday 16th June where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge
Race 1
HOLY STAR raced from a handy position over 1200m on the polytrack last time, but found one too good in the form of Aristocratic. His debut effort when fourth over this C&D catches the eye. The son of Pomodoro is the form horse in this race and he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
RAGING MOON ran a fair race on debut over 1100m on this course. He received a bump leaving the start, raced green and stayed on at the finish. The son of Act Of War would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
RATTLE THE PEACE is an unraced son of Declarationofpeace from the Louis Goosen stable with Gavin Lerena in the saddle. He is related to four-time winner Rattle Mouse. If not in need of this outing, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other unraced entran
Race 2
VANAKKAM is better than her last start in the Listed Ridgemont Devon Air Stakes. Her two efforts prior to that outing were encouraging. The drop to 1000m may suit her well and she gets the services of 1.5kgs claiming apprentice Trent Mayhew. If putting her best foot forward, she may be the one to beat.
BELLIGERENT made the expected natural improvement when fourth over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. The drop to 1000m is a slight concern, but Gavin Lerena is booked to ride. The daughter of Willow Magic is a progressive type and if jumping on terms, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
NGELANDPARK was in need of her debut effort over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She would have gained from the experience and should make the natural improvement.
Race 3
LUCIENNE has produced three good runs to date. She raced from just off the pace over 1000m last time, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Ruby Rising. The daughter of Captain Of All has plenty of scope and she can shed her maiden tag.
PRIORY TERRACE produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. She showed speed before getting outrun late by Limitless Sky. The daughter of Vercingetorix would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she may be hard to peg back.
ARE YOU SURE has consistent form lines to her name. She finished 2.5 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.
Race 4
PURPLE POWAHOUSE lost a length leaving the start over 1000m on the polytrack last time, and ran on strongly to notch up the victory. He finished 1.1 lengths behind ARVERNI PRINCESS, three runs ago. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won over this distance previously and may be the one to side with.
ARVERNI PRINCESS was not disgraced when third against stronger last time. She won her penultimate race in this class over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride, and the combination merit healthy respect.
WHEREVERILAYMYHAT finished 2.75 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
Race 5
ESCAPOLOGIST was not disgraced when third in the Listed The Independent On Saturday Insider East Coast Cup last time. She over raced in the early stages and stayed on at the finish. The daughter of Linngari steps up to 2400m and if Cole Dicken is able to switch her off early, she should give the males a run for their money.
BAD MEDICINE should have finished closer to the winner last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. If finding the form of his penultimate run, he should go close.
KING BAVARIAN was an easy winner over 2000m on the polytrack last time. He steps up in distance and class. He runs well for 4kgs claiming appprentice Jacey Botes and with his light mass, he cannot be ignored.
Race 6
PLAZA ACCORD raced from a handy position over this C&D last time, tried hard but found one too good in the form of Stars In Heaven. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of eight, he can return to winning ways.
TIRPITZ finished 0.65 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. He has cracked a good draw of four and is a big runner.
IMPOSING finished 0.9 lengths behind the top choice in the race referred to above. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
Race 7
This is a competitive Class 2 field and caution is advised. CYMRIC from the Mike and Mathew de Kock stable is the narrow first selection. He tried hard when second over 1160m at Turffontein last time. He has won once, finished second three times and third once from as many starts over this distance. He is having his first run for the yard and if settled into his new surroundings, he may be the one to side with.
I AM GIANT returns from a 22-week break and is having his first run for Stuart Ferrie. He finished third in a Grade 1 on this course, last year. Sean Veale is booked to ride and if not in need of the run, he should pose a threat.
HITHEMHARDSUNSHINE tried hard when second in the KRA Cup A Stakes last time. He is having his peak run and if repeating his last effort, he should be involved at the finish.
Race 8
BLACK CHEETAH returns from a 13-week break. He finished fourth in the Non-Black Type Cape Racing Sales Cape Slipper last time. The son of Querari galloped at Hollywoodbets Greyville on 14 May 2025. He is a horse with class about him and should be too good for his older rivals.
RAFA’S BOY was an easy winner of his last start over this C&D. He showed good speed, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. The son of Rafeef is in a good space and may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
IBHELE stayed on when fourth over this distance on the polytrack last time. He finished 3.1 lengths behind the second choice, three runs ago. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result
