Spurs won both legs of their semi final match up with surprise package Bodo Glimt for a 5-1 aggregate win. They won the first leg in London 3-1 (Johnson, Maddision, Solanke) and Solanke and Pedro Porro scored second half goals in a 2-0 win in Norway.
Spurs edged a tight quarter final match up with Frankfurt 2-1 on aggregate. The first leg in London finished all square at 1-1 and a Solanke penalty saw Spurs edge the return in Germany. After losing the first leg of their Ro16 clash away to AZ Alkmaar, Spurs turned things around with a 3-1 to go through 3-2 on aggregate. Spurs had qualified for the knockout rounds automatically with a record of 5 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat.
In the EPL Spurs are 17th in the standings, 1 place and 1 point behind United. They won both league meetings this season, 3-0 in Manchester and 1-0 in London
and they also beat United 4-3 in an EFL Cup home fixture.
Manchester United
United put Athletic Bilbao away 7-1 on aggregate in the semi finals. They took control with a 3-0 victory in Bilbao in the first leg( Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes 2) and their opponents never recovered from being reduced to 10 men in the first half. The return in Manchester saw Bilbao take a first half lead but 4 United goals in the last 20 minutes (Mount 2, Casemiro, Hojlund) secured a comfortable passage to the final.
United came through an epic battle with Lyon in the quarter finals, 7-6 on aggregate. The first leg in Lyon finished all square at 2-2 and the return at Old Trafford again finished at 2-2 but Lyon were reduced to 10 men in the closing stages. The French side somehow took a 4-2 lead on the night but 3 United goals from the 114th minute onwards saw them squeeze through. In their Ro16 clash with Real Socieded United came out on top 5-2 on aggregate and they were unbeaten in the league phase, drawing their first 3 matches but winning each of the next 5.

The Verdict
Given their EPL season it's hard to believe one of these sides will be playing UCL football next season. Spurs have the worse of the team news with Kulusevski and Maddison out, two key men who would have a huge role to play but I'm battling to find enough pointers towards either side to name a winner.
I could be wide of the mark and goals in United game in this competition have often arrived in quick succession but my gut feel is this could be cagey for much of the game and I'm with a draw at half time. There must be scope for a card or 2 and Romero gets my vote.
Bets: Half time result draw at 21/20 with Sportingbet
To be shown a card Cristian Romero at 16/10 with Sportingbet
